We’re proud to share that Beth Houghton, Partner and Head of the Impact Fund at Palatine, has been appointed to the Council of the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA). Beth said: “I’m excited and honored to be joining the BVCA Council. Palatine has long been an active supporter of the BVCA, and I’ve had the privilege of serving on its Responsible Investment Committee for more than five years. “This is an important moment for our industry to demonstrate the positive role private equity plays in driving growth across the UK economy. I’m particularly passionate about representing both Impact investing and the regions. Too often private equity is seen as concentrated in London and the South East, but the reality is very different. Across the North and beyond, there are outstanding entrepreneurial businesses that deserve recognition and support. “As leaders in private equity, we have a responsibility to raise the profile of our industry, and to showcase the jobs, wealth creation and societal impact that responsible investment can deliver.” Congratulations Beth, this appointment reflects both your dedication to advancing responsible investing and the impact-driven ethos we hold at Palatine. He offers a clear and grounded view of the realities of private equity, covering: • Where the capital comes from • How different deal structures work – and why you might use them • What really changes once an investor comes on board He also shares insight on our “positive equity” approach which challenges old-school stereotypes about PE and shows how private equity can be a genuine partner in growth. Today marks World Mental Health Day—a chance for us all to come together and openly talk about mental health. This year’s theme highlights the importance of people being able to protect their mental health whatever they're going through, because good mental health is something we all deserve. We’d like to give a big thank you to our six Mental Health First Aiders and our Health and Wellbeing Working Group. Their dedication helps make Palatine a more positive, open, and supportive place for everyone. We celebrated WMHD on Wednesday with a Healthy ‘Happy Hour’ lunch, it was great to take some time out of our busy days to catch up over some good food. We would also like to say a huge thank you to Jeff Ross from Harris & Ross, who came in to talk to us about Wellbeing in the Office .
