Please donate to the Ponterra Mexico Community Relief Fund. Over the past week, Tropical Storm Jerry has brought severe flooding to northern Veracruz and Puebla, damaging infrastructure and disrupting nearby communities. Ponterra’s La Esperanza project has not been impacted, and operations continue as planned. Our teams and project remain safe and stable. At the same time, many surrounding communities have not been as fortunate. Families close to our operations have lost access to electricity, clean water, and basic supplies. In response, the Ponterra Mexico team has taken a few days away from regular operations to provide humanitarian support, using boats to reach isolated families, distributing water and food, and restoring power and communications through generators and Starlink units. To continue assisting the communities with which we collaborate with, we’ve launched the Ponterra Mexico Community Relief Fund. All contributions will go directly toward essential supplies, clean water, and short-term employment opportunities to help families recover. If you are able to contribute, please consider donating here: https://lnkd.in/e6hHERn8 Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly to relief and recovery efforts on the ground. We were delighted to host our second annual Nature-Based Solutions Roundtable at New York Climate Week 2025, alongside re.green and Latham & Watkins. This event was built on one idea: while the restoration work happens all across the world, to really drive forward nature-based solutions, we must come together and constructively express our ideas. Over three interactive sessions, project developers, financiers, offtakers, MRV specialists, policymakers, and legal experts circulated between tables to share pressing thoughts and shape practical next steps. The energy in the room was all about collaboration, raising the tough topics we face and working through them collectively to scale up NBS for a nature positive future. Guiding the discussions were a remarkable group of table leads. On Financing, Yuhau Lin of Morgan Stanley, Reilly O'Hara of Google, and Natalie Urban of the Symbiosis Coalition explored how to strengthen bankability, structure upfront finance, and improve economics through blended models. Regulation was steered by Margaret Morales of Carbon Capital Lab, Zachary Kane of Oka, The Carbon Insurance Company®, and Annalise Downey of Sylvera, who unpacked Article 6 and the evolving landscape between compliance and voluntary markets. On Compliance, Jamey Mulligan of Amazon, Neil Hacker of Isometric, and Ben Field of Patch examined permanence, issuance challenges, and the rise of dMRV. Finally, Project Operations & Technology was led by Scobie Mackay of IMPERATIVE and Alexander Argyros of BlueLayer, who delved into scale, cost efficiencies, and project de-risking. A very big thank you to everyone who joined us and brought their perspective. It is through conversations like these that we can turn intent into meaningful implementation. #NaturebasedSolutions #ClimateWeekNYC2025 #Restoration #Community #Collaboration #Reforestation

From forest to classroom: connecting with the community in Mariato. This week, our ARC I team in Panama visited Centro Educativo Integral in Mariato, Veraguas, to lead environmental education activities with over 600 students. Led by Andrew Coates, Melvin Cordoba, Ulises Ojo and Melvis Guerra, the team also worked with local residents, including the town’s priest, to plant native trees in the church grounds using seedlings from Ponterra’s nursery. Mariato, on Panama’s Pacific coast, is home to remarkable biodiversity and a strong sense of community. We’re proud to support local efforts to restore and protect this unique and lush landscape. Bringing schools and community leaders into the work is essential to building long-term care for Panama’s forests. #Ponterra #Reforestation #Biodiversity #CommunityEngagement

Planting knowledge, growing connections. Last week, the La Esperanza team welcomed over 25 schoolchildren from the nearby communities of Poza Rica, San Diego, Aguafría and La Uno for Somos Semillas, a five-day summer course exploring the region’s native ecosystems. Through hands-on activities in our nursery and seed bank, the children learned how to germinate seeds, transplant native species and care for local flora, guided by the same staff who grow the trees used in our reforestation efforts. Thank you to Makani Milugar for your support in coordinating the programme, and to the families who nurture curiosity and care for nature from a young age. Community is at the heart of every successful restoration project, and sharing knowledge helps build the local support needed to protect these landscapes over time. __ [ES] Sembrando conocimiento, cultivando conexiones. When changing rainfall patterns make cattle grazing less economically feasible, many in emerging economies face stark choices. On the Azuero coast of Panama, carbon project developer Ponterra has stepped in with a solution: a reforestation program that aims to make growing trees more profitable than harvesting them. We're proud to be early investors in Ponterra's ARC project. To learn more about the project, check out the explainer below.
