We loved supporting The Milner York on launching the Milner week, celebrating their first year since the rebrand. The team has a fantastic time at their 1940s themed anniversary dinner on Friday. Their commitment to the York community is evident in everything they do, with the evening ending with the presentation of the very first Milner Community Award! This is just the beginning.
What a night. Last Friday, we hosted members of York’s vibrant community, The Milner York’s local partners, and supporters for a spectacular 1940s-themed Anniversary Evening. The event marked the close of Milner Week, during which the hotel was brought to life with 1940s-inspired touches - from vintage games and retro sweets in the lobby, to a specially curated anniversary cocktail menu, and guest giveaways. To bring the celebrations to a close, we presented the very first The Milner Award to Eleanor Bryson from Visit York - a person who truly embodies the spirit of York, with tireless dedication to the city. Andy Barnsdale, General Manager, shared, “Milner Week has truly brought the community together, and I am grateful to everyone who came along to celebrate with us.” Thank you to everyone who has taken part in Milner Week, and a huge congratulations once again to Eleanor, the first recipient of The Milner Award! Another Week. Another Turn Down. It's as reliable as your morning coffee. This week’s top insights: • 54% of UK consumers don’t trust restaurants to pass 100% of tips onto their staff. • Trips from older travellers are increasing, with a booking lead time of 9 months before departure. This is a shorter booking pattern than pre-pandemic. • The average booking lead time increased to 53 days, up from 42 days in 2024. • Gen Z is leading the way in European Travel spending, and is expected to take an average of 3.4 holidays over the next 2 years. • 80% of consumers are more likely to buy from brands that partner with influencers on projects beyond social.
