(Bucket) hats off to a brilliant day at Ascot for QIPCO British Champions Day! It was great to see the Racing Post brand have a bigger on-course presence last weekend, with our team connecting directly with racegoers throughout the day. Our goal was simple, to make the Racing Post name more visible among casual punters and next-generation fans. Based in the Invades and Club26 lawn area, we gave away 400 Racing Post bucket hats, all gone well before the first race. The activation proved a real hit with the student crowd, with nearly 200 videos created and a similar number of new email sign-ups to Racing Post communications. Racing Post’s own Jonny Pearson joined Frankie Foster and Conor Shoemark on the mic, sharing their fancies and adding to the buzz of the day. Alongside this, we featured across the racecourse with adverts in the racecard, on the big screens, and on-course branding along the home straight. A big thanks to Natasha B., Freddie Hanbury, Isabelle Robertson and Jonny Pearson for your help and efforts.

  • Every week, subscribers receive Editor’s Choice - a personal note from Tom Kerr, sharing his perspective on the biggest moments in racing. Read this week's below 👇 "The last champagne corks of the season are still being prised from the turf at Ascot after British Champions Day, but with the finale of the Flat now in the rear-view mirror the time has come to turn towards the mud, mayhem and magic of the jumps.    What a moment this is. It is as rich with anticipation as the opening day of the football season and as familiar as donning your big winter coat for the first time of the year. Ahead of us stretches the highs, the agony and the glory of the National Hunt, with at its end the distant, tantalising prospect of the spring festivals, four days in Cheltenham and the crowning of champions.    We will be with you along every fence and hurdle of that journey. For the last few months, we've been mapping out how we'll make this the best jumps season yet across the Racing Post's platforms. It is, quite honestly, a thrilling process to be part of. After all, we're fans, racegoers and punters, just like you, and it's a privilege to get to plan and create the kind of content we'd want to see.   So what lies ahead? You may have already seen our star signing for the season by now. After his interview with the Racing Post a few weeks ago rocketed to the top of our most-read stories this year, we knew we had to get pro punter Moray Smith, 'Cheltenham Man' himself, involved for the season ahead. So I'm delighted to say he'll be writing a column all season, sharing insights from a lifetime of profitable punting as well as his thoughts and advice on the jumps season as it unfolds. Moray will then be writing every Wednesday through the season.    We're going to be running Live Q&As exclusive to subscribers through the season, with the first one taking place later this month - the perfect chance to lob your questions and thoughts about what lies ahead at our experts.    The Racing Post is also the only racing publisher with boots on the ground across the country and inside all the key training centres. Liam Headd, our man in Lambourn, will be bringing you the latest from the Valley of the Racehorse, our West Country correspondent James Stevens covers that jumping heartland, while our team in Ireland - led by the formidable duo of Richard Forristal and David Jennings - have the king of jump racing, Willie Mullins, on speed dial.   It's not all serious stuff, either. That man David Jennings will be teaming up with the inimitable Johnny Dineen once again on our much-loved video show, Upping The Ante, which returns next month. We'll also be doing much more video content across our social channels and digital platforms: behind the scenes content from stables and racecourses, narrative specials and punchy views.    So buckle up, dig out the thermals and come along with us for a most thrilling ride in sport. The jumps are back - and there's nothing else like it"
