Our first session featured thought-provoking insights from across the sector, including: 🟣 Richard Allan (Chiltern Railways) sharing Chiltern Railways’ – Our 2030 Vision, outlining ambitions for the next decade. 🟣 Professor Denise Bower OBE (Mott MacDonald / University of Leeds) highlighting The Benefits of Investing in Rail and the long-term value this creates for people and places. 🟣 James Richardson (The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) discussing Connecting the North and the lessons learned from one of the UK’s largest infrastructure programmes. 🟣 A lively panel discussion on Unleashing the Economic Value of Rail with Richard Allan, Denise Bower, James Richardson, and Huw Merriman, exploring how collaboration and investment can drive sustainable growth. 🟣 Toufic Machnouk (GBRX) delivered a keynote on the importance of innovation and integration across the system - all whilst simultaneously solving a Rubik's cube! 🟣 Catherine Appleby (Membership & Engagement Director at Rail Forum) highlighted this year’s ERCI European Railway Clusters Initiative ASBL Innovation Award finalists, with some spotlight features from: Composite Braiding Ltd, Plastecowood, LB Foster, Ampetronic, Positive Traction, Rolling Stock Technology powered by ExcelWraps and SPL POWERLINES UK&I. 🟣 We also heard from Laura Shoaf, CBE (Chair of Shadow Great British Railways) in conversation with Elaine Clark OBE and Harry Burr, providing valuable perspective on the future direction for our industry.
