A look into what’s been happening across REDHILL ACADEMY TRUST this week… 🍲 Year 11 Hospitality and Catering students at Hall Park Academy have been showcasing a variety of culinary skills under test conditions in a recent mock practical exam, producing a vibrant range of impressive dishes. 🌊 Year 13 Geographers from Colonel Frank Seely Academy swapped the classroom for the coast during their recent fieldtrip to Norfolk. Visiting a range of sites, students collected costal data from seaside towns Sea Palling and Overstrand and urban data in Norwich - this will later inform their independent investigations. 🌱 Congratulations to South Nottinghamshire Academy on achieving the Royal Horticultural Society RHS School Gardening Award Level 3, recognising that they can grow and name a range of plants, keep plants healthy and are planet-friendly gardeners. The latest harvest gathered from the academy’s allotment by students will be donated to make meals across the local community. 🍰 Students and staff at The Bolsover School have raised a fantastic £120.60 for Macmillan Cancer Support through the sale of tasty treats at their combined bake sale and baking competition. Well done to the top 5 entries: 1st Eliza, 2nd Araminta, 3rd Harry, 4th Aiden and 5th Yigit. #RedhillAcademyTrust #MultiAcademyTrust #NottinghamSchools #DerbyshireSchools

A look into what’s been happening across REDHILL ACADEMY TRUST this week… ✈️ Year 10 & 11 Spanish students from Colonel Frank Seely Academy emersed themselves in local culture during an action-packed trip to Valencia. Itinerary highlights included a walking tour of key sites across the city, visits to Oceanogràfic aquarium and Mestalla Stadium home of Valencia CF, as well as Spanish language lessons and paella cooking classes. 🥾 Students at Brookfield Community School recently embarked on a whole school sponsored walk in aid of Ashgate Hospice, raising over £12,000! A well-established fundraiser, now in its fourth year, this event provides the valuable opportunity to not only raise money for local charities, but for participating students to fulfil two of the school’s core values: resilience and ambition. 🎼 South Nottinghamshire Academy’s Music Department are celebrating having recently been presented with the Music Mark of Recognition for Ambition & Quality, championing the academy’s commitment to diverse, inclusive and creative music education. Their certificate and Music Mark - The UK Association for Music Education logo will now be proudly displayed at the academy. 📰Tupton Hall School proudly launched the first edition of the Tupton Hall Gazette, a student-led newspaper written by students, for students. A look into what’s been happening across REDHILL ACADEMY TRUST this week… 🌳Year 11 Geographers at Brookfield Community School completed their physical and urban fieldwork at the Porter Brook in Sheffield. This was a valuable opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world contexts, analyse data and evaluate geographical processes – skills that will be fundamental when reflecting on their experiences during exams. 🏉 Looking back to the beginning of the autumn term when The Oakwood Academy welcomed former professional Ruby League player Jamie Peacock MBE to their school. Jamie delivered an inspiring speech to Year 11 students and staff in preparation for the new school year. 🦽 Robert Mellors Primary Academy’s school hall has been a hive of activity this week as pupils tried wheelchair sports with Express Coaching Services Ltd. Children from nursery through to Year 6 developed basic skills before applying them to archery and basketball. An exciting and inspiring way to learn about diversity, inclusion and teamwork. 🧠 Year 12 Psychologists at The Carlton Academy have been using biscuits and other sweet treats to create 3D diagrams of neurons. Working in small groups, students then annotated the different components and functions of their tasty creations. #RedhillAcademyTrust #MultiAcademyTrust #NottinghamSchools #DerbyshireSchools
