Today, during the Women and Equalities Committee’s inquiry into cosmetic procedures, Rachel Taylor MP asked the Minister of State for Secondary Care, Karin Smyth MP, if the government would back our position that cosmetic surgical procedures should only be carried out by doctors who hold Cosmetic Surgery Board Certification. We are urging the government to regulate both surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures simultaneously. This includes introducing safeguards to ensure that only board-certified surgeons perform cosmetic and aesthetic operations. 🔗 Learn more about Cosmetic Surgery Board Certification: https://ow.ly/ExEs50WVapb

The Royal College of Surgeons of England reposted this
Had an incredible day at the Women in Surgery: Women at the Cutting Edge Conference in Birmingham yesterday hosted by WinS The Royal College of Surgeons of England It was a pleasure to Chair the first session on Women in Technology and to hear from Nuha Yassin speak about Robotics and Sue Hill speak about Genomics. The day carried on with themed sessions on compassionate leadership, and breakout sessions featuring Team Consulting discussing how our surgical devices aren’t adapted to the female hand and how this needs to be built into the design processes. It was great to catch up with both familiar faces and new and leave with lots of hope for our profession in the future! Dr Terouz Pasha Nuha Yassin Enya C. What a phenomenal day at Women at the Cutting Edge on Friday. The energy in every session was nothing short of inspiring. Thank you to all our incredible speakers. From breakthroughs in genomics with Sue Hill and the future of robotics with Nuha Yassin through to nanoparticle drug delivery with Ijeoma F. Uchegbu DBE, FMedSci, HonFRSC, to say that the room was brimming with talent would be an understatement. One of the highlights for us was seeing the 'lift as you climb' mentality in action in the leadership, careers and menopause workshops. Scarlet Nazarian talked about finding her tribe and we hope that the event helped some of you find yours.
