We want you to join us. Follow us for insights on thematic investing, updates on our stewardship work, learning opportunities and job vacancies. This year’s rally in global equities has been led by cyclicals, including industrials, banks, and other high-beta retail investor favourites. Quality stocks, with their high return on equity, steady earnings and sturdier balance sheets, have trailed. That has been uncomfortable for Sarasin’s thematic and quality tilt, but we think it remains right for longer-term investors. Three reasons stand out: a cooling US economy; tariffs starting to have an impact on economic data; and valuations looking frothy, stoked by retail speculation, surging option trading, and record margin debt. Guy Monson argues that now is the time to insist on quality, even if that means lagging exuberant indices. Watch the full video - https://lnkd.in/ezHZGYAu

Last week, we marked the International Day of Peace on 23 September, with a bring-and-share international food event. At a time when the world can feel volatile and divided, it was a wonderful opportunity to come together, share food, and celebrate the diverse cultures across our firm and, most importantly, to strengthen our sense of connection with one another.

September’s quarter-point rate cut from the US Federal Reserve’s FOMC plays out against a background of unprecedented political challenge. The previously staunchly independent committee already has three key Trump appointees on its governing board out of a total seven, and it is feasible that the White House could have a clear majority of Fed Governors at some point in 2026. If this plays out what does a Trump influenced Federal Reserve look like? Guy Monson and Subitha Subramaniam assess the fragility of the Fed today, speculate what a White House-influenced central bank would look like, and examine the investment implications. Sarasin & Partners is proud to be a patron of Parentkind’s National Parent Survey 2025, released today. It’s a vital read for anyone trying to improve education for all and support the UK’s 11 million parents of school-age children. Key findings include: ➡️ 1 in 3 parents find parenting difficult ➡️ 1 in 5 parents struggle to afford the cost of sending their child to school ➡️ Parents are spending £1.5 billion a year on tutoring, and almost half of parents have moved house to be near a good school But it's not all challenges, there’s positive news too: more parents report a positive mental-health impact than negative, and many are talking to other parents every week. Let’s use these insights to champion parent voices — at work and at home. Read the full reports here: https://lnkd.in/dDm3f3CW #NationalParentSurvey2025
