🚀 The Seraphim Space Index for Q1 2025 is here 🚀 We’re excited to share the latest edition of our SpaceTech Index – tracking the key funding, market, and innovation trends shaping the industry. 📈 Total funding over the trailing twelve months reached $8.1bn, a 12% year-on-year increase from the TTM to Q1 2024. 🔧 Investment activity continued to concentrate in capital-intensive sectors like space hardware, infrastructure, launch services, and satellites. 💰 The largest deal this quarter was Stoke Space’s $260m Series C. US companies once again dominated, attracting 59% of all capital deployed. Meanwhile, China accounted for just 8%, with no single deal exceeding $100m. 🌱 Seed-stage deals led by volume (55% of deals), but most capital was raised at Series B and C rounds – continuing the trend of recent quarters. 🌍 This quarter also marked a number of milestones: Isar Aerospace launched the first-ever commercial orbital attempt from continental Europe. Firefly Aerospace became the first commercial firm to complete a soft landing on the Moon - a landmark for private lunar exploration. 📉 Publicly listed US SpaceTech firms saw a retreat after Q4 gains, while European space companies outperformed, buoyed by defence spending commitments. 🛰️ Despite some IPO optimism earlier this year – including Karman+’s debut and Voyager Technologies announcing its intention to IPO – recent trade tensions have paused the pipeline. 🔭 While macroeconomic and geopolitical uncertainty looms, we remain optimistic about the long-term forces accelerating growth in SpaceTech. 👇 Read the full index and explore the data: https://lnkd.in/etgrzRrp #SpaceTech #VentureCapital #SpaceInvestment #Startups #NewSpace #VC

ICEYE and IHI Corporation announce cooperation to develop a SAR satellite constellation in Japan 🛰️ ICEYE and IHI will start cooperating on the development of a SAR constellation of up to 24 satellites to provide earth observation data for military, civilian and commercial purposes. The initiative is intended to support Japan’s space ambitions of boosting space industries while strengthening national security and resilience. ICEYE's recent announcement to provide SAR satellites for the Armed Forces of Poland valued at €200M is featured in Bloomberg 🛰️ This contract is for the provision of three ICEYE SAR satellites, and an option to purchase three more satellites and additional ground segment capabilities in the next 12 months, under the Polish Armed Forces’ #MikroSAR program.
