The Government plans to simplify local government by changing the number and type of local councils across Greater Lincolnshire. East Lindsey District Council, Boston Borough Council and South Holland District Council will be submitting a joint proposal for a more simpler and efficient model of local councils by the end of November. 🎨 Calling all teachers and educators working within the South Holland and Boston area! Do you work with young people aged 14–19 who are curious about careers in the creative industries? Make sure they don’t miss the Creative Careers Conference 2025, taking place on Tuesday 18th November from 10:30am until 1:30pm (arrival from 10:15am) at Blackfriars Theatre and Arts Centre, Boston. This inspiring event offers students the chance to: 🔹Hear from professionals across drama, dance, music, filmmaking, and behind-the-scenes roles 🔹Explore a wide range of creative career paths 🔹Take part in interactive, hands-on sessions led by local creatives 🔹Discover what working in the creative sector is really like 🎟️ Important: All bookings must be made by teachers or education providers - students do not need to book individually. Thank you to those who attended our public engagement session at the Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth last night. It was great to hear your views and questions. Public engagement is helping to shape the Local Government Reorganisation proposal being developed jointly by East Lindsey District Council, Boston Borough Council and South Holland District Council The session was led by Cllr Mike Gilbert, Deputy Leader of Boston Borough Council and Cllr Tom Ashton, Executive Board member at East Lindsey District Council. A reminder that the proposal is to create two similar sized authorities for Greater Lincolnshire: 🔘 Northern Lincolnshire unitary: Covering North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire, West Lindsey and the City of Lincoln (population 531,000). 🔘 Southern Lincolnshire unitary: Covering North Kesteven, South Kesteven, Boston, South Holland and East Lindsey (population 574,000). The A Greater Lincolnshire For All proposal: ✅best meets the Government's criteria 🏠Will create two authorities for Greater Lincolnshire of similar size and economic scale 🙌The model simplifies access to services for residents 👍delivers better value 🤝enables stronger local decision makings for communities. Piling Update 🏗️ An important phase of construction for the South Holland Health and Wellbeing Hub is now complete, with piling works having finished on the site ahead of schedule. This is a major step forwards in bringing the new facility to life, providing the foundations for the new building to begin to take shape. We'd like to thank residents for their patience and understanding during this stage of works, especially regarding any noise disruption caused. The team will now begin working further on the foundations of the building and the excavation of the site's new swimming pools. Throughout the week we will be focusing on five key themes, that reflect our commitment to delivering the best possible service: ➡️ Evolving Customer Needs – Adapting to meet changing expectations. ➡️ Service with Respect – Recognising everyone has the right to be treated with respect. ➡️ Growth & Innovation – Driving progress through new ideas and embracing digital. ➡️ Employee Engagement – Empowering our people to thrive. ➡️ Recognition – Celebrating outstanding contributions.   To go alongside Evolving Customer Needs, we've shared below a short summary of our demand between April and September, with the aim to increase Customer awareness of our service, channels, volumes and other areas, including: 📞 89,105 inbound calls handled 👋 20,177 customers served at reception desks 📩 16,988 emails handled 🧮 273,622 total customer contacts.
