“Together, we can break the vicious cycle of extreme weather, falling participation and unequal access. This is the biggest boost to grassroots sport yet - new tools, training and up to £2.5 million still available this year. Our ambition isn’t just to be sustainable - it’s to be planet-positive. To leave the world better, greener and fairer than we found it.” Sport England Chair, Chris Boardman spoke at the Blue Earth Summit today and highlighted a package of measures to help sport and physical activity organisations adapt to climate change and protect participation. Sport England’s Movement Fund will offer organisations up to £15,000 to help them act and adapt to climate-driven disruption. In addition, a call for evidence and urge to local organisations to shine a light on stories of real-world resilience has been launched - from flood-proofed pitches to solar-powered swimming pools - to show how communities can, and are, turning climate challenge into climate action. "Women of colour were virtually invisible." #ThisGirlCan analysed 4,000 photos which showed that out of 8,559 women, only 56 were of Black women and 61 were of South Asian women – less than 1.5% combined, despite them making up 11% of the population. As part of 'We Like The Way You Move', This Girl Can have added new, rights free images to our already inclusive photo library.

"Black Girls Do Run UK exists because representation matters. Too often, Black women are absent from the imagery of running, but by showing up in our kit at races and online, we are rewriting that narrative. We are saying we are here, we run and we belong!" To celebrate the start of Black History Month, the founder of Black Girls Do Run UK and member of the This Girl Can advisory board talks about representation in sport and how movement helps Black women feel connected, powerful and supported. "Running has also shown me how much representation matters. There have been times I felt invisible at races or out of place in running communities, but when I began sharing my story and weaving my Jamaican heritage into my running, I discovered others felt the same – and that, by stepping forward, I could help them feel seen."
