Having grown up seeing my Grandad manage Type 1 diabetes every single day, I’ve seen first-hand the impact the condition can have and the resilience it takes to live with it. Brilliant to see Henry Slade using his platform to raise awareness and challenge the stigma through Tackle Diabetes with Sanofi . Great work from the teams at Beat Media Group and Advocate Marketing Communications in helping share such an important story.

It’s estimated that more than 400,000 people in the UK are living with Type 1 diabetes, with prevalence continuing to rise costing the UK economy over £1.9 billion each year in direct healthcare costs. Diagnosed at 18, England rugby star Henry Slade has lived the daily realities of managing the condition, making hundreds of extra decisions each day just to keep his blood sugar levels stable. He has launched Tackle Diabetes with Sanofi, with an ambition to shine a light on the importance of early detection and challenging stigma around the condition. We worked alongside our colleagues at Advocate Marketing Communications to land significant national broadcast and print coverage last week and look forward to seeing the continued impact of the campaign in the months ahead.

  • 35m video views ... and so much more 📈 We partnered with World Netball to deliver a vertical first video strategy for the Netball World Youth Cup in Gibraltar. Through work across our client network, we've learned that age group events - national and international - can massively punch above their weight on social and aspiring athletes can go viral just like established stars. While earned coverage might be more challenging across traditional media, you can lean into your owned channels to deliver big numbers - if the storytelling is right. Also, there is no substitute for being there - our team on the ground - James Reid and Megan Titterington - were able to react quickly to moments we knew would move the dial and integrate seamlessly into the IF's own team. Over 35m views across TikTok and Instagram underlines the power of those channels and delivered strong follower acquisition too - we know views can be a vanity number unless enhanced by other important metrics for engagement.

Today is World Mental Health Day — a topic very close to my heart. Over the past few years, I’ve shared openly with my colleagues at Beat Media Group about my own battle with anxiety — something I carried quietly for more than a decade while trying to appear strong, dependable and “always on.” Like many, I masked how I was really feeling with long hours, distraction, and humour, until the pandemic forced me to stop and face my own wellbeing. Admitting I needed help was the hardest step. I spoke to my family, started therapy and coaching, and slowly began to rebuild — learning that change isn’t instant, but it is possible. This year has brought new challenges too, watching my young son struggle with severe anxiety almost overnight. Supporting a child through that — while trying to lead a business — has been humbling and exhausting, but also a reminder: mental health doesn’t just affect those experiencing it first-hand; it impacts families, colleagues, and friends too. If there’s one thing these experiences have taught me, it’s that we never truly know what’s going on behind someone’s smile. A missed deadline, a quiet day, a late reply — often there’s a bigger story underneath. At BMG we’re still learning and improving, but we want to be a workplace where it’s safe to talk, to ask for help, and to support one another — not just on days like today, but all year round. If you’re struggling — or supporting someone who is — please know you’re not alone. My door is always open, and there’s strength in sharing your story. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthAwareness #SupportEachOther

World Mental Health Day 🧠 Yesterday, Josh Clark and I attended the Sport Industry Group Mental Wellbeing event hosted by Benchmark Sport. A really insightful morning hearing from Team GB athlete Adam Gemili, Laylla Stanley (Strategic Lead – Social Impact, PREM Rugby) and Kelly Richardson (Brand Director, Rocket Sports), who all shared powerful perspectives on the importance of mental health across sport and the wider industry. Particularly inspiring to hear Adam speak so openly about his experiences at the highest level — a reminder that behind every performance is a person, and that supporting wellbeing is essential to sustainable success both on and off the field. Really useful insight to help shape and strengthen our own approach to mental health and wellbeing here at Beat Media Group. #WorldMentalHealthDay #SportIndustry #Wellbeing #Leadership #Culture #Performance

It was a privilege for Beat Media Group to work with World Rugby, The National Lottery and Allianz over the last two months and watch England Rugby's Red Roses lift the World Cup at Allianz Stadium. To complete the ultimate journey, we attended RugbyFest at Bracknell Rugby Football Club last Friday - part of the RFU’s World Cup legacy programme, Impact ’25, and supported by the National Lottery. The Impact ’25 programme will see over £14.55m of Government funding committed to the sport in England and the home unions up to the end of March 2026, creating more opportunities for women and girls to get involved in rugby. We interviewed the likes of Ellie Kildunne, Marlie Packer, and Maggie Alphonsi MBE - and produced an avalanche of coverage across UK national and regional media. We delivered 643 pieces of branded coverage from our involvement in RugbyFest on Friday, including the below in the Daily Mirror and the Daily Star. It was such a thrill to see how the impact of the Red Roses winning at the Allianz Stadium is already inspiring the next generation. Some of the coverage: 🔗 Ellie Kildunne issues Red Roses rallying cry after inspirational World Cup glory – Mirror 🔗 Marlie Packer’s emotional message to England teammate after Red Roses World Cup triumph – Mirror 🔗 Ellie Kildunne issues Red Roses rallying cry after inspirational World Cup glory – Daily Star 🔗 Marlie Packer’s emotional message to England teammate after Red Roses World Cup triumph – Daily Star

Enjoyable morning at Beat Media Group diving into conversations around high performance, culture transition, and the exciting areas of growth the business is targeting. What stood out most was how aligned the team is on the idea that sustainable performance isn’t just about results, it’s about the culture that drives them. When businesses evolve their culture with intention, it creates the foundation for growth, innovation, and consistency.
