To mark National Volunteering Week last week and shine a light on our Volunteering Policy, we’ve continued our tradition of celebrating some of our incredible colleagues who also give their time as volunteers. We strongly believe that volunteering not only benefits our communities but also enriches our employees’ personal and professional lives. It’s a fantastic way to develop new skills and gain experiences that can positively impact our work. Many of our team members bring valuable, transferable skills to local groups and charities. Throughout last week we heard from colleagues involved in a wide range of inspiring and rewarding volunteer roles, including: - Supporting their local church - Serving as a charity trading board director - Providing support during palliative care - Chairing a Parent Teacher Association Our Community Development and Facilities Management team also shared a brilliant example of a one-off project to transform the outdoor space of a community hub. We’re incredibly proud of our colleagues and grateful to them for sharing their stories
