Sahar Nazir writes for Professional Adviser that "advisers have been told to consider [EIS] and [SEIS] as tools for tax and estate planning, particularly with changes expected due to inheritance tax (IHT) on pensions from April 2027." Representatives from EIS Association member organisations were quoted in the piece, including Fuel Ventures 🚀's James D'Mello who said "somebody puts money in SEIS, they get 50% income tax relief, half their CGT is gone. That's 62% without anything else going on." Puma Investments's John Oliver said: "These products can transform succession planning outcomes. In one example, an older client facing £24,000 CGT on a property sale reinvested into EIS and achieved almost double the inheritance left to beneficiaries once business relief was factored in."
