The F-16C is the most numerous fighter aircraft in NATO, with over 4,500 F-16s produced over the past 50 years and 3,000 still in service with 25 nations worldwide. The Block 25 F-16C first flew in June 1984 and features the Westinghouse AN/APG-68 radar with improved precision night-attack capability. What makes it special? It's powered by one Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-220 turbofan engine producing 23,000 pounds of thrust with afterburner, measuring 47 feet 8 inches in length with a 31-foot wingspan. The aircraft introduced several innovations including the bubble canopy design when it entered service in 1978. Its AN/APG-68 radar provides a maximum detection range of 80 kilometers. Fun fact: Originally designed as a light day fighter, high demand led to its development into an all-weather, multirole aircraft! The F-16C proves that adaptable design creates enduring success.

The end of an era... 🇩🇰 #RIAT25 marked many historic moments - including the final appearance of the Royal Danish Air Force F-16AM Fighting Falcon. After more than four decades of service, Denmark’s iconic Fighting Falcon took its final bow as they transition to F-35A Lightning II. Over the years, the F-16 has become one of Europe's most reconignisable solo displays - especially in its striking Dannebrog livery, inspired by the national flag. At RIAT25, Captain Troels “TEO” Vang delivered one last breathtaking performance, marking the end of an era for both Danish aviation and airshow fans across the UK. Meet the lifesaver in yellow - the Westland Sea King HAR.3 What makes it special? Powered by twin Rolls-Royce Gnome gas turbine engines, the HAR.3 entered RAF Search & Rescue service in 1978 and replaced the Whirlwind HAR.10. It’s fitted with extended fuel tanks, enhanced navigation aids, search radar, night-vision capability, enabling all-weather, day and night operations over land and sea. It carries a crew of four and can rescue up to six stretchers in medical evacuation roles. Fun fact: Its winch is over four times longer than its predecessors, and its cabin was lengthened behind the side door to give more space for survivors and medical equipment - innovations that helped it respond effectively 🚁
