What a fantastic turnout for the Year 5/6 Open Evening at Howden School! It was wonderful to see the community come together - and even better to see the event so brilliantly led by our learners. From a warm welcome at the sign-in desk, to guided tours showcasing our facilities, to the confident and eloquent speeches from our Head Students during the “Introduction to Howden” talk - our learners were front and centre throughout the evening. A special shout-out to those fundraising for their upcoming trip to Peru, just one of the many exciting enrichment opportunities available at Howden. Thank you to everyone who came along and made the evening such a success! #HowdenSchool #OpenEvening #StudentLeadership #EnrichmentOpportunities #CommunitySpirit

Last night, Headteacher Jay Kerby, alongside the dedicated staff and students of Cottingham High School, welcomed the local community to their Year 5/6 Open Evening. The event was brought to life by the incredible support of students from Years 7 to 11, who proudly showcased what it means to be part of the Cottingham High School family. In his address, Jay shared the key ingredients that make the school the special place it is, highlighting high expectations, exceptional teaching and learning, and an ambitious, future-focused curriculum. Central to this is the school’s inclusive ethos, embodied by the newly unveiled Thrive Centre—a transformative space that reflects Cottingham’s commitment to the wellbeing and growth of every student. Visitors were given a glimpse into the school’s ongoing development, including recent investments in facilities and exciting future projects like the forthcoming 3G astroturf pitch. The evening was filled with energy and enthusiasm, a true testament to the pride, passion and community spirit that make Cottingham High such a special place to learn and grow.

Wolfreton’s student-led Year 5/6 Open Evening was a great success, thanks to the energy, passion and leadership of its students. From guiding tours to showcasing their work and answering questions with confidence, they truly brought the school to life and showed what makes the community so special. From Year 7s who’ve only been there a few weeks, to sixth formers fundraising for their trip to Peru, well done to every student who stepped up and led the way. #StudentLeadership #OpenEvening #FutureLeaders

Last night’s ECT event was a fantastic opportunity for our Year 1 and Year 2 colleagues to come together with their Mentors and Induction Tutors. The session provided valuable insights into the range of support available to them, as well as their bespoke CPDL offer. A special thank you to our colleagues from Croxby Primary, who shared the powerful impact that Tom Sherrington’s Teaching Walkthrus—combined with the Trust’s Teaching and Learning Framework—are having on both staff development and learner outcomes in their school. #ECTs #Mentors #TeachingandLearning #Walkthrus

Holderness Academy's charity rat, Amazing Amy, has temporarily left her home in Hedon to be reunited with her friends, in advance of the Grand Charity Auction in aid of the Daisy Appeal. For anyone who hasn't had the chance to see Amazing Amy in person, this is a great opportunity to see the fantastic work that students at Holderness Academy put into this creative community project
