Thank you 👏🏻🤩
Yesterday Mersey Design Group welcomed Lillie Mai Riley who is supporting Designer Amber Johnson with a social value construction project at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in collaboration with our Construction partner on this scheme City Build. Lillie Mai joined us at the MDG studio and met the team before reviewing the design with Amber, we then met Andrew Field and mike haslam on site to look at the design and begin planning the programme. We took the opportunity to visit one of our other projects on site, Sterile Services designed by Callum James Mulvey and delivered by City Build. We look forward to supporting Lillie Mai in her early career and will be introducing her to our wider network. Huge thanks to Kerry and Amy Henderson at Thrive Careers Hub for introducing Lillie Mai to MDG. Tony Crawford Amelia Crawford Sara Lawton (Pgcert) Daniel Ross Elizabeth Alker-Newman

Next week I’ll be speaking at the Raise Up Summit - an inspiring event that brings together employers, young people and changemakers to explore how we can create real social mobility. It is vital that we support young people who are not in education, employment or training, and invest in their future. I’ve seen first-hand how doing so can help strengthen communities and divert people away from crime. I look forward to joining my fellow panel members to speak about how employers can create social mobility in their organisations by creating meaningful pathways into work and leadership. 👇 You can learn more about the summit here: https://lnkd.in/deTFbPw5

It was great to have such a fantastic employer like Direct Line Group come in to work so intimately with our young people at Thrive yesterday. They shared a little more about the roles available in their company and were able to work with the participants on a 1 to 1 basis, catering to their individual needs and experiences. This was a great opportunity for the young people to connect and build a relationship with employers to kick start their career journey whilst being in their safe space where they feel most comfortable and confident. Weekly wrap up at Thrive: Another busy week at Thrive full of an array of different sessions. We were joined by Dylan Dunbar from Liverpool Hope University supporting service users with CV writing as well as Debbie King from MK Consult Ltd providing practice interveiws. Both of these sessions were great for our young people to improve their employability skills with external employers to get a taste for the world of work 📑 We were also joined by a variety of different industries that our young people are interested in to deliver information sessions about the roles they have available. DTM Legal LLP delivered an interactive session that showed the participants of the wider opportunities in the legal industry beyond being a lawyer ⚖️ We also hosted North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust who shared some insight on the healthcare industry and made some 1 to 1 connections with our young people 🚑 Finally, our young people learnt about opportunities in retail from Matalan in a really informative session about the range of roles beyond the shop floor 🛍️ We hope to continue to welcome young people into the service and deliver sessions catered to their career ambitions and strengthening our connections with employers 🤝

What a crazy yet incredible week we have had! I am so proud of everything that Thrive Careers Hub has and is achieving! Our small but mighty team are truly changing the lives of young people every day, and what better recognition than a visit from the Prime Minister and Chancellor. On Sunday, Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Rt Hon Rachel Reeves spent the morning at Thrive talking to staff, partners and most importantly young people about challenges, ambitions and how Thrive has helped them on their journeys. In a few weeks Thrive will be turning 5 and to celebrate we are hosting a HUGE one day event! Raise Up will bring together employers and young people across a jam packed day, celebrating all things social mobility and opportunity! DTM Legal LLP came in yesterday to run a great information session about different roles and areas within their law firm. They shared their own career journeys with the young people and helped them explore where law could take them. The session was very interactive featuring Colin and Cuthbert the caterpillars. We were shown a case study of how law was used in this big talking point! We want to say a big thank you for supporting Thrive to help raise aspirations with our young people. Sessions like these really help young people who are at the start of their working journeys to help them discover different industries and meet amazing employers. Siobhan Beattie Molly Clapham

It’s been a lovely morning being at Thrive Careers Hub and working with some of the young people on interview techniques and skills. The young people I met today were brilliant, wanting to learn and improve and filled with hope, despite having faced so many knock-backs. Employers, lets give these young people a chance to shine. They want to work and they need our encouragement and support to get through the door and get these work opportunities! As always, the team at Thrive are an inspiration. I love spending time with you all and can’t wait to see you at the Youth Summit Raise Up 💫 Amy Henderson Elinor Jenkins Sara Lawton (Pgcert) Daniel Ross Rise Construction Framework Tammy Marlowe MK Consult Ltd ☑️
