Deal of the day: EXA Infrastructure has announced the completion of a E1.3bn refinancing and expansion of its existing debt facilities. In August, TMT Finance exclusively reported that the Rothschild & Co-advised E1.3bn financing package had a seven-year tenor, as confirmed by EXA, as well as further details on pricing and tranche structure. The financing will be used to fund network buildouts and the acquisition of subsea operator Aqua Comms announced earlier this year and follows EXA’s recent network investments in 2025, including a fibre backbone project in Central Europe and a new subsea cable in the North Sea, the release added. Deal of the day: BlackRock’s Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), Abu Dhabi-based technology investor MGX and the Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure Partnership (AIP) will together acquire Aligned Data Centers from funds managed by Macquarie Asset Management and its co-invest partners. On 3 September, TMT Finance exclusively reported that GIP and MGX were in talks to acquire a majority stake in Aligned. The transaction pegs Plano, Texas-headquartered Aligned’s enterprise value at roughly US$40bn, according to the press statement. Guggenheim Securities acted as lead financial advisor to the sellers, with Wells Fargo, TD Securities, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, Citizens JMP Securities, and Bank of America also serving as financial advisors. Latham & Watkins served as legal counsel to the sellers, while Sterlington served as legal counsel to Aligned’s management team. Not a subscriber?
