Fintech Account Executive | GTM Strategy & Enterprise Sales | Driving Growth for B2B SaaS Scaleups | Keynote Speaker

A year ago, I was doubting myself. Today, I sat on a stage speaking about my career in fintech at UK Black Business Week | UK Black Business Show For the last year, I’ve been quiet. not gone, just growing. Healing. Learning. Becoming. And as I sat there on that stage, it hit me… I’m living my wildest dreams. Five-year-old Misky would be soo proud. There was a time I thought I needed more. More confidence. More experience. More proof. But I already had it all within me. The wisdom. The knowledge. The perspective. I just had to stop hiding it. After the panel, so many people came up to say thank you and that’s when I realised: it was never about being perfect, it was about being real. When you stop waiting to “feel ready,” you start walking in your purpose. If you’re reading this, please remember: you already have what it takes. Everything you need is within you. Keep going. Keep believing. One day, you’ll look around and realise you’re standing on every stage you once dreamed of. ✨ Everything always works out for you. ✨ #WomenInFinance #BlackInFinance #Fintech #WomenInSales

What a week at the UK Black Business Week | UK Black Business Show! The atmosphere was charged with purpose, excellence, and community. Every conversation was a masterclass in possibility, surrounded by high achievers who genuinely want to see you win, share wisdom, and pour belief into others. The space radiated Black excellence, contagious, empowering, and deeply affirming. It was more than an event; it was a transformative experience. Beyond the glamour and thrill of meeting incredible people, what moved me most was seeing the real humans behind the success stories. Listening to their journeys, the lessons, growth, and vulnerability, reminded me that greatness is built, not born. The people we admire have faced doubts, fears, and setbacks, yet they kept moving forward. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Raphael Sofoluke (and his amazing team), a true catalyst building pathways for thousands to thrive and shaping the future of entrepreneurship with purpose and progress. Your vision continues to open doors, create platforms that architect legacy, and connect changemakers across generations. I was deeply inspired by so many trailblazers: Karen Blackett CBE, who went from aspiring athlete to leading the world’s largest marketing group with purpose and vision. Deji Davies, Managing Director and finance leader, is creating opportunities across education, football, and finance. Karl Patterson, the retail leader who rose from the shop floor to champion wellbeing for over 80,000 employees. Joelle O. O., the publisher whose confidence reshaped the life of an EGOT actress and inspired millions. Lámidé Elizabeth Elizabeth, the ex-banker redefining global wealth creation without borders. Lamar Tyler, the business icon uniting the Black diaspora globally. Tiwalola Adebayo (née Ogunlesi), empowering women to reclaim their voices and amplify their impact. Thomas Hal Robson-Kanu, the Premier League footballer building a purpose-driven business grounded in strategy and intention. Dr. Erica Jordan-Thomas, an educators, leading a movement to close the wealth gap. Mr. Toyyib Adewale Adelodun noted: “When you step into certain rooms, your mind expands on what’s possible.” This week, I saw that truth come alive. These rooms stretch your vision, challenge your limits, and ignite an unshakable belief in your dreams. Every story and every conversation was a spark, a reminder that we are rising together. Trailblazers breaking ceilings, pushing boundaries, and expanding what’s possible for generations to come. It was also wonderful reconnecting with brilliant friends, Ifeoluwa Ogunbufunmi, Tolu A., Ezzy Ndujiuba, and Jonathan Antor, and meeting so many inspiring changemakers. The grand finale of the #UKBlackBusinessShow is today, featuring powerful keynotes, transformative ideas, and conversations that bridge vision with impact. Let’s keep leading, serving, creating lasting impact, and building legacies strong enough for generations to stand on.

It was a pleasure to attend the UK Black Business Show yesterday. A huge congrats to Dr. Raphael Sofoluke and the team on an outstanding event - the atmosphere was amazing and there were so many brilliant businesses to meet. A big thank you too to Ade Ahmadu for hosting our panel "The Insider Guide to Executive-level Thinking". It was an absolute privilege to share the stage with Eddy Datubo Chris Trill and Keisha Bell - so many amazing lessons they shared about their journeys: 🏛️ It only takes one leader to destroy a culture but we can all play a role in building it, and leaders must set the tone. ❤️ Kindness, empathy and fairness are some of the most important values a leader can have. 🚀 As leaders we have the chance to leave a legacy for those who come next, so let's pay it forward. Also it's always a highlight to meet our sellers! Thank you to meet our sellers so thank you to Olma Edeki who runs the brilliant Patricia Anne Preloved store on eBay who came to say hi! Thank you to the eBay UK team who led sessions at UK Black Business Week | UK Black Business Show and spent the day yesterday meeting existing and prospective sellers. eBay is an incredible place to start and grow your business. I thought I had it hard as a Black founder in America. Then I met Black founders in the UK. I had no idea how much privilege I was sitting on. Yesterday I checked into UK Black Business Week | UK Black Business Show Registration form: Name. Business. Annual revenue. I selected "$1M-$5M." The guy checking me in looked over my shoulder. "Woah—I'm sorry I looked but... wow. That's incredible." I was confused. Then it hit me. In the US, at conferences I go to, $1M-$5M is average. Sometimes on the smaller end. Here? It made someone stop. That's when I realized: I've been sitting on privilege I didn't even know I had. Not traditional privilege. But privilege in access. In ecosystem. In scale. I came here to support my peers, Dr. Erica Jordan-Thomas, Jay Cameron, Crystal Swain-Bates, Tommie Traffic, and Lamar Tyler. But I'm learning things I didn't expect. Like how much infrastructure exists in America that just... doesn't exist here. It's not that founders here aren't talented. They're brilliant. But the ecosystem is younger. The market is smaller. There are roughly 47 million Black people in America. In the UK? About 2 million. That's a 20x difference in market size. When I post on LinkedIn, thousands of Black founders and execs see it. Here? That same reach doesn't exist yet. In America, we have an entire ethos around "Buy Black" and "Support Black Business." Major campaigns. Cultural movements. Infrastructure. Here? They're building that from scratch. I don't raise capital—I built my business bootstrapped. But even then, I can look around and see Black founders who've raised $10M, $50M, $100M+. I can call them. Learn from them. See what's possible. That visibility changes everything. Here? Those examples are fewer. And here's what I'm realizing: Scale hides strategy. In America, I can post decent content and still get clients because the market is 47 million deep. Here? You have to be 10x better because the market is 20x smaller. American Black founders can succeed with good execution. UK Black founders need perfect execution. (or expand into the US market, which is hard). That's not fair. But it's real. For four years, I've [unintentionally] built with an African American lens. That work matters. That's MY community. But Black founders here need these frameworks just as much—if not more. They need the strategies. The playbooks. The permission to build. Hip-hop went global. Black culture went global. Black wealth strategies? Not yet. That needs to change. I came here thinking I was thinking big. I was thinking American (yikes). The biggest trap of privilege is thinking your ceiling is the sky. For someone else, your floor is their ceiling. Time to build different. What up, LONDON 🇬🇧 WE HERE! And WE READY 🧡🧱
