In his latest blog for mallowstreet, Matthew Swynnerton, Pension Scams Industry Group (PSIG) member, explores how artificial intelligence is reshaping fraud prevention in pensions and what it means for schemes and savers. From biometric verification to machine learning systems that detect fraudulent websites, technology is helping the industry stay one step ahead of scammers. But as AI evolves, so do the risks, including deepfakes and synthetic identities that challenge even the most advanced defences. It’s World Statistics Day – and yes, we’re celebrating data! We all know, numbers get a bad reputation. 🥱 But when it comes to marketing and PR, the right stats don’t just sit in a spreadsheet, they tell the story of what’s working, what’s not, and what’s next. Us at KBPR, we love a good set of analytics because they turn guesswork into growth. Social media metrics, for example, aren’t just vanity figures, they reveal audience behaviour, sentiment, and opportunity. That’s why monitoring your analytics isn’t optional anymore; it’s how you stay relevant in a noisy digital world. So, on World Statistics Day, we’re raising a glass (of coffee) to the data that helps brands make smarter decisions and more meaningful connections. Read our latest blog to find out why monitoring your social media analytics really matters: 👉 https://lnkd.in/euigZtfJ

After three days at Pensions UK 2025, it’s clear that the breadth and depth of discussion reflects one shared understanding. we all have an important role to play in building the future pension system. From policy direction to scheme design, from technology to adequacy, every conversation has shown the collective determination across the industry to make real progress. As many commentators highlighted, the emphasis is now shifting from strategy to delivery, turning ideas into action. That’s exactly where Festina Finance thrives: helping pension providers and policymakers connect insight with implementation through flexible, modular technology. Thank you to everyone who visited our stand, joined the conversation, and of course, contributed to the LEGO builds that brought our theme of “building the future” to life! Our LEGO competition winner will be announced next week!! We don’t just talk pensions, we live and breathe them. We’re not your typical PR and marketing agency. We’re the only media relations firm 100% dedicated to the pensions and investments industry, and that’s what makes all the difference. Because when you know the landscape inside out, you don’t waste time getting up to speed. You’re already in the conversation. Our clients benefit from a team that truly understands the issues shaping the sector, regulation, innovation, ESG, dashboards, data, and how to translate them into compelling stories that resonate. For over a decade, we’ve built trusted relationships with the journalists and editors who lead the pensions debate. The press comes to us first, not just for comments, but for insight. That means our clients are seen, heard, and remembered for the right reasons. We’re not outsiders looking in. We’re part of the pensions ecosystem, and that’s how we keep our clients one step ahead. When it comes to pensions and investments, we don’t follow the news, we help make it.

Thanks to everyone who visited the Sackers stand over the last three days in Manchester. It’s been wonderful to see so many clients and industry friends and to have the time to catch up properly, in person. There is no substitute for meeting face to face, and no better place to do it than at a Pensions UK conference 🤝 Thanks also to those who came to Tom Jackman’s talk on the new responsibilities that trustees are facing in relation to the use of surplus – certainly a hot topic for some time to come! And how proud were we to have come up with the “must have” freebie of the conference – our limited edition Sackers blanket, modelled below by our very own Vicky Carr. We promise to have more available at the investment conference in Edinburgh. We hope that everyone has a safe journey home and look forward to seeing you again soon!

As featured in Pension Funds Online, our Managing Director Garry Wake shares his thoughts on why the next chapter for pensions admin is all about flexibility, not complexity. For too long, the industry has relied on outdated, all-in-one systems that struggle to meet modern demands. But that’s changing. A new generation of modular, cloud-native tools is making innovation more accessible, agile and effective, even for smaller schemes. AI is part of the picture, but it’s not the whole story. It works best when embedded into well-designed, connected systems that solve real problems and improve outcomes. This shift isn’t just for the biggest players. It’s opening the door to better, more human pensions admin for everyone.
