About us
Our work is led by the Combined Authority, chaired by our Mayor, and supported by the thematic committees of the Combined Authority which focus on achieving our corporate objectives. Membership of the Combined Authority is made up of the Mayor and democratically elected councillors from our West Yorkshire partner councils of Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield, and a non-voting member representing the City of York Council. The Mayor’s Business Board brings together local business and community leaders with expertise across multiple sectors, including manufacturing, professional services, and the arts to champion the regional economy.

It’s vital that everyone can experience the incredible culture West Yorkshire has to offer. We’re working with Unlimited to help cultural venues, events and organisations make their facilities more accessible. Support is also available through expert advice and disability awareness training. This international accolade shines a spotlight on our ambitions for a better-connected West Yorkshire, with the Weaver Network joining up journeys across the region and bringing trams to Leeds and Bradford. Everyone should be able to access the world class culture West Yorkshire is famous for. That’s why we have partnered with Unlimited to help cultural venues, events and organisations become more accessible and inclusive for disabled artists and audiences. Through this programme, you can apply for support for small capital projects, expert advice and support and disability awareness training. MAP Charity in Leeds were able to add a new, permanent ramp as well as accessible, gender-neutral toilets to prepare their building to welcome the public to events and workshops. The next round is now open for expressions of interest.
