This AI Video Won Me $15,000 🤯 And here’s everything I learnt throughout the process of making it... A few weeks ago, I entered the Wondercraft “Vibe Creation Manifesto”, a global competition challenging creators to make a video entirely powered by AI. It was one of the most fascinating creative experiences I’ve ever had, testing how far I could push this technology while still holding onto the art of storytelling. Here are my 3 biggest learnings from creating a full video completely with AI 👇 1. The fundamentals can’t be sacrificed 🔥 No matter how advanced the tools get, the fundamentals of storytelling still matter more than ever. Narrative, pacing, emotion, these are the things that make stories human. AI can assist, but it can’t replace taste or intuition. Just because it’s faster doesn’t mean it should lose feeling. The tech can enhance your craft, but it should never replace your craft. 2. Spend time getting each element right separately 👌 AI can now generate video, music, SFX, and voice in a single click, but great storytelling rarely happens in one pass. To maintain quality, I treated every component with the same care as traditional editing. I spent over 50% of my total time just perfecting the audio, the pacing, the emotional cues. I didn’t move on until I could feel the impact of the video with my eyes closed. 3. Don’t settle for anything less than perfect 💯 When working with AI, you’re constantly battling the uncanny valley. Even a small imperfection, an awkward gesture, a slightly off tone, can shatter the illusion completely. Your goal is to create something where people don’t question whether it’s real or not for even a second. Every pixel, every beat, every breath matters. The Wondercraft competition was genuinely incredible, not just for what we made, but for the community of creative rebels who joined me. Everyone was pushing limits, experimenting fearlessly, and redefining what creativity even means in this new era - Mariia | Adrien | Art | Lily | Mitchell | Sagar | Sarah | Lionel Mora | Carlos Winning the $15,000 was amazing, but the real win was seeing just how far this technology can go when guided by human creativity. 2 months. 10 bold creators. $25k on the line. 1 winner. 🏆 Last week we wrapped up our AI Video Challenge and released a private beta of what (I think), will change how people create video. On Wednesday, we gathered our London community for a private showcase of our new product, Wonda, and wrapped up our 4-week $25K video challenge, with the legend Isaac taking the win. Wonda opens to everyone on October 27. Four weeks ago, we gave alpha access to 10 rebels and asked them to push Wonda to its limits to create the best launch video possible. This week, we turned their work into a mini film festival and the results were out of this world. The crowd was blown away (and so were we tbh). I’ll be sharing all the productions here in 10 days, right after we release Wonda. It’s been amazing to feel the energy building, people are clearly ready for a new way to create video: by chatting with AI. Next week, we’re launching Wonda in private beta. The team is equally excited as it is stressed. And yet, all I can think is: 'you just have to keep dancing'. Things are moving insanely fast in AI right now. If you’re reading this, chances are you feel a little behind on what’s new — and you’re not alone. It’s the same for startups. We’ve done well so far, not a unicorn (yet), but proud of how far we’ve come. Still, if we just kept repeating what worked, it would eventually kill the company. Because if you compare today’s AI models and infrastructure to just two years ago, it’s night and day. So when I ask myself, if I were starting this company today, would we still be doing exactly the same thing we set out? The answer is no. How could we? The Wonda launch is an evolution of our product, but it feels like a re-invention of the company - hence the stress and excitement. And in the next few weeks, you will hear and see a lot more about what is this Wonda that I'm talking about. When the ground beneath keeps shifting, you don’t stop. You keep dancing. 🫶 P.S.
