YO1 Radio and Media

We are delighted at YO1 Radio and Media to announce that Nick Hancock is joining us as Breakfast show presenter but also as our Mutimedia and Programme Manager from Monday 1st September. Nick worked briefly at Minster FM and ended up at the highly successful Stray FM in Harrogate for almost 12 years. His role as Director of Content with the group that owned Stray FM served him well for opening a new radio service named Your Harrogate over the last 5 years. Nick has strong ties within the North Yorkshire region and is always at his happiest when helping the community and making a difference. Today John Lane, Director of Marketing and Operations from YorWealth Ltd visited YO1 Radio and Media for a meeting with our Katy Turner, Business Development Director. Without doubt John's adorable Golden Retriever named Norman stole the show ! The whole team here at Radio House fell in love with him. Local radio is such a great source of information sharing and community building. Huge thank you to Wayne Chadwick YO1 Radio and Media for inviting us in today to talk about our work in the civic party, this history of the Lord Mayor and Sheriffs offices, our charities York Against Cancer, Family Matters York, Royal British Legion and how our first few weeks have panned out. Our wonderful Judges for the recent YO1 Radio Sports Awards 2025 ! They spent multiple hours assessing around 450 nominees and found the process very challenging due to the high standard of the individuals.
