Nuclide Therapeutics, a British BioTech company and King's College London spin-out focused on developing targeted radiopharmaceuticals for therapy-resistant cancers, has raised €5.7 million in funding 🇬🇧🎗 The round saw participation from Marathon Beteiligungs AG, in what is reportedly the largest pre-money valuation of any King’s College London spin-out to date. We're pleased to announce a £5 million investment into Cyted Health, a leading gastrointestinal molecular diagnostics company, as part of an £32.5 million Series B funding round. The round was co-led with EQT Life Sciences and Advent Life Sciences, with continued support from existing investors Morningside and BGF. Founded by leading experts at the University of Cambridge, Cyted is pioneering the development of minimally invasive cell collection coupled with proprietary biomarker discovery to transform the detection of pre-cancerous, cancerous and inflammatory esophageal conditions. "Life sciences is an area of real opportunity for the UK. We have an abundance of high potential, IP rich companies that can become market leaders if they have the funding needed to scale. This is why life sciences is one of the eight key sectors included in the Government’s Industrial Strategy," says Leandros Kalisperas, our Chief Investment Officer. Enhanced Genomics has completed a funding round that extends its total Series A raise to $19 million. Backers were BGF, Parkwalk Advisors and Meltwind Advisory LLP. The company, based at St John's Innovation Park in Cambridge, pioneers 3D multi-omics to rapidly identify high-confidence, genetically validated drug targets for common diseases. The funding will be used to expand Enhanced’s internal therapeutic pipeline in common diseases, including autoimmune conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease. It will enable the company to scale its output through strategic partnerships with pharma and biotech, leveraging novel target identification and asset-based opportunities to drive long-term growth. Enhanced Genomics Chair, Dietrich Stephan, said: “Our founders have led the field by developing technology to map 3D interactions on a whole-genome scale and integrating these data with comprehensive multi-omics datasets. “We now have the technological capabilities to decipher the causal biology that drives complex and common genetic diseases, with the potential to develop truly effective new blockbuster therapies. “This puts us in a strong position to lead the next major shift in pharma. "We aspire to move faster than other countries and really set the standards,” MHRA CEO Lawrence Tallon says in new interview with the Financial Times as he sets out his ambitions for the agency.
