When most people build links, they point them straight to product or blog pages. Sounds smart, right? Direct relevance, exact match, more context… But here’s what I’ve seen in testing (and across client sites): 👉 Pages rank better when the homepage is the authority hub. Why? Homepage links lift the entire domain’s authority They pass trust naturally through internal linking They’re safer and look more organic (brands get mentioned → usually link to homepage) In fact, in multiple campaigns, sites with ~80% of links to homepage consistently saw faster ranking jumps across all pages. It’s not about ignoring deep links — those matter too. But if you’re building every link directly to a sales page, you’re playing the short game. 📌 Build the brand → Power up the homepage → Watch the lift spread across the site.

🚨 Why companies waste money on paid ads & they don’t even realise it! That’s not scare tactics – it’s a consent tracking issue. We’ve audited dozens of sites over the past year. You’d be amazed how many haven’t properly implemented Consent Mode for Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, or Meta. No Consent Mode = ❌ No tracking for users who click ‘Reject all’ ❌ No enhanced conversions ❌ Incomplete or missing data in GA4 ❌ Wasted ad spend you can’t justify And here’s a common misconception: Blocking GTM until consent is granted isn’t enough. Unless your individual tags are configured to respect consent signals, they may still fire — and you’re not compliant. Even worse – many brands think they’re compliant because they’ve got a cookie banner. But: ⚠️ Consent Mode isn’t automatically wired in. Especially when tags are manually added or use old GTM setups. ⚠️ According to the ICO, your banner must give equal prominence to ‘Accept’ and ‘Reject’. You can’t bury the reject option on a second layer. And if you haven’t implemented Consent Mode v2 by now, your data could already be non-compliant — and broken. ✅ Paid traffic showing as ‘Direct’ ✅ Retargeting audiences shrinking ✅ ROAS metrics unreliable ✅ Data loss due to cookieless users (e.g. Safari Incognito) This isn’t just a privacy issue — it’s a data and performance issue. Why LinkedIn is About to Become a B2B 'YouTube Meets Medium'... (and how to win this game) Over the last few weeks, I've been analysing LinkedIn quite a lot. Looking at people I follow, people I know, and people whose content I genuinely enjoy and used to see. Unfortunately, I'm barely seeing any of the posts I want. The reality is that the new LinkedIn algorithm is designed to work a little bit like YouTube, so you don't suddenly get a fast hit of post‑likes that accumulate over time. You can see what's going on inside your content‑performance dashboards, where they've switched to a cumulative impressions and engagement metric. They want you to understand that these impressions add up over time. This is gaming statistics to get you hooked on how many engagements you have over time rather than daily, weekly, or monthly. The problem right now is that there simply isn’t the type of content on LinkedIn that generally rewards this algorithm. We aren’t creating it. And there’s a good reason for that. Most people here have full‑time careers or businesses and don’t have the time to create content that generates this algorithmic love. Even if you're a freelancer or a consultant with more time on your hands and LinkedIn is your primary channel, this is going to be pretty hard for you to do. This is shifting from a B2B role to a B2B content creator. Which is weird because realistically, this is a professional networking site where people share insights with the time they have, rather than wanting to be full‑time B2B content creators. The fundamental problem with this is that LinkedIn wants to be a platform where people spend time in the evenings and during the day. And it's not just videos with LinkedIn. They want written words. They want you to write as if this were Medium or Substack, and add videos as if it were YouTube. They want users to create this B2B content ecosystem where people can spend time, save content and help achieve their goals. I think that's great; I have no problem with that at all. However, this causes a clash. One of the reasons I haven't spent as much time creating LinkedIn content is that I've been genuinely busy in my private and business life. I have a lot of commitments, and we've been working with clients, so I've been focusing on completing the work. I'm not trying to become the Mr Beast of the B2B world. However, someone will and can take on that role, and that's what LinkedIn is looking for. But this is where all platforms are heading. In an AI world, getting attention is going to be tougher than ever, and as a result, more people will need to put increased effort into their content. The algorithms want effort. The LinkedIn game has changed, and it’s ripe for the taking for those who have the time and the effort to give a lot of value. Content marketing as a service will surge in this world. We're entering a new era...buckle up.

If you can't close good leads (SQL's), no agency is going to save you. Talking to a prospect last week and it became apparent there was more than just a 'we need more leads' issue. After asking a bunch of questions I had to be honest with them an explain I feel like where they are lacking is not just lead volume or quality, it's follow up. Arguably the most vital piece of building a lead/sales acquisition system. Here are things to consider if you're spending money on ads/marketing to drive leads: - How quickly you're following them up. - How are you actually following them up (in this case it was an email the next day). - What is your process when if you don't hear back. - Is it easy for the prospect to contact you back. - If they do book a call in, do you send reminders leading up to the call (SMS, email etc) What have I missed? Improving this would be much more valuable to a business than just getting more leads, get this right before you scale. #leads #ads #aquistion #sales
