🌍To mark UN Global Goals Week, I’m proud to share our 2025 Local Sustainability Initiatives Report, a reflection of how our teams across Randstad are translating purpose into action. What to Expect in the Executive & Senior Talent Market Over the Next 4 Months... As we enter the final stretch of the year, both businesses and candidates need to be clear-eyed about what’s ahead. The next four months will set the tone for 2026, and the moves made now will define momentum going into Q1. Here is what I am seeing-> On the Business Side, Caution, but not paralysis. Companies will stay disciplined with hiring, but the roles tied directly to profitability, operational efficiency, and strategic execution will move faster than ever. Pressure to secure leadership before year-end. Many boards and executive teams don’t want to start the new year with critical vacancies. Expect accelerated searches for “can’t-wait” leadership roles between September and December. Talent retention will be tested. Budget tightening and restructuring put more pressure on keeping your top people engaged especially when competitors are quietly making calls. On the Candidate Side -> Selectivity is the theme. High-level professionals are less interested in “any role” and more interested in “the right role.” They’re asking tough questions about organizational vision, growth runway, and cultural alignment. Timing matters. Many executives view Q4 transitions as strategic—they can wrap up the year cleanly, take a short break, and step into a new challenge with fresh budgets and initiatives in January. Negotiation is nuanced. It’s not just about compensation, it’s about impact, visibility, and long-term stability. Candidates want to see how their work ties to legacy, not just today’s KPIs. The Big Picture: The next four months are about alignment and clarity. Companies that can clearly communicate the why behind a role will secure the best leaders. Candidates who approach the market with patience and purpose will find the opportunities that truly accelerate their careers. The market isn’t slowing down, it’s sharpening. Now is the time to think strategically, whether you’re building a leadership team or planning your next career move.

What does leadership look like in 2025 and beyond? This morning I had the privilege of MC’ing our spring Leading the Way event, an exclusive invite only event series for Talent clients. We explored how leaders can navigate a world where uncertainty and change is constant and where the race is on with AI. We heard from two inspiring speakers: 💡 Sarah Bellett, Head of People Experience at One New Zealand - on how their bold goal to become the most AI-enabled telco on the planet is as much about people and customers as it is about technology. 💡 Ryan Jones, Principal Consultant at Radically - on why capability, connection and adaptability remain the ultimate advantage in an AI-driven world. The takeaway was clear: technology will keep evolving, but it’s leadership that will determine how we unlock its true potential and how we ensure people remain at the heart of transformation. At Talent, our mission is to build a better world of work. That means supporting leaders who are change agents, who embrace innovation with humanity, and who give a damn about the future of work and the communities we serve.
