Welcome to Episode 12 of Behind the Scenes at the Becky Mayer Centre for Phage Research Leicester. In this episode, our PhD student Nzubechukwu Ugokwe - Innocent, talks about his project, supervised by Andy Millard and Ed Galyov, exploring how phages can be engineered as novel vaccine delivery platforms for use in agriculture. We informally discuss how phages can be modified to display or deliver antigens in a highly targeted and stable way.  This approach is a promising, cost-effective alternative to traditional vaccines especially in livestock and aquaculture settings where scalable, low-cost immunisation strategies are urgently needed. Innocent also shares some highlights from his recent trip to Germany, where he had an enjoyable and informative visit working with other researchers at the cutting edge of phage engineering.

✨ Very delighted to be invited to deliver a keynote at the Hull University Business School School on "From Tools to Teammates: How GenAI is Reshaping Higher Education". Many colleagues in higher education are still finding it challenging to visualise what AI integration looks like in practice, or are seeking clear, practical guidance. Too often, AI is seen only as a tool. But it is far more than that—it is emerging as a collaborator, teammate, and even a stakeholder in the learning process. In my keynote, I shared my Five Levels of AI Integration: From Tool to Teammate, a framework I designed to illustrate how we can move beyond surface use and make more meaningful, responsible use of AI in curriculum design, research and administrative work.
