This week on NYSE TV I shared how Pineapple is bringing mortgages onto digital rails with Injective and the $INJ token. Today, I want to go one layer deeper on a concept that’s often misunderstood: staking and yield, and why it matters for our business and our shareholders. In plain terms, staking is how a blockchain secures itself. We delegate our INJ to independent validators who run the network; in return, the network pays a yield in INJ. Practically, that means our treasury isn’t sitting idle, it’s participating in the infrastructure we intend to build on. This approach is designed to be accretive in two ways. First, it can generate income today while we develop onchain mortgage products. Second, it aligns our economics with our roadmap: the same rails that produce staking rewards are the rails we plan to use for mortgage data, funding, and servicing events so financial returns and product progress move together. Our north star is simple and measurable: over time, we aim to increase INJ per PAPL share with disciplined risk controls. The broader value proposition reaches everyone in the ecosystem. For homeowners, digital rails can translate into clearer timelines and fewer frictions. For brokers and lenders, event-level transparency around payments, modifications, and servicing reduces reconciliation cycles and errors. For investors, onchain instruments create a path to participate in tokenized mortgage risk with better data and auditability. And for shareholders, a policy-driven digital asset treasury provides a potential return stream now while we build the products that can reshape how capital flows through housing finance. This is a long-term strategy. We intend to leverage Injective for years, and our team is already at work on our first onchain product. Last week’s White House digital asset report proposed establishing a number of ‘safe harbour’ rules, the most notable of which could help convince the blockchain-phobic public to re-evaluate their skepticism.   This proposal would allow private institutions (like exchanges and stablecoin issuers) to “temporarily hold [digital] assets when they identify suspected illicit activity.” Such a ‘hold law’ would allow this temporary freezing while an investigation is conducted.   Since the report envisions lifting liabilities on decentralized finance operators that don’t take custody of assets passing through their platforms, allowing these freezes would offer some capacity to thwart crime before the assets have been mixed/chain-hopped/laundered.    Thanks to the U.S. government changing its approach, the blockchain sector is on the cusp of mainstream acceptance. But every week brings new stories of thefts, rug-pulls and other exploits. Small wonder that most Americans are “not interested in ever buying.” https://lnkd.in/gUymGj9Y   Some digital diehards will never accept any outside interference in their ability to transact. But a critical mass of acceptance will only come by convincing the broader public that they’re not entering a digital dark alley where the rule of law doesn’t apply.   Will valid transactions sometimes be flagged? Yes. Will this be inconvenient? Hell, yes. But with great power comes great responsibility. Blockchain operators need to offer assurances that encourage fence-sitters to join the party. Otherwise, you’re left preaching to the choir.

🇬🇧🇺🇸 SEC’s Hester Peirce Proposes UK–US Cross-Border Tokenization Sandbox — But No Invite for EU. from Darshana Manikkuwadura (Dash)⚡️🇬🇧 🇱🇰⚡️ Last week, SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce doubled down on her call for a cross-border tokenization sandbox — and this time, she wasn’t pulling punches. Speaking on the future of digital securities, Peirce outlined a framework for a regulatory sandbox between the US and UK to trial tokenized financial instruments in a way that promotes innovation without political baggage. Her message was clear: “Focus on finance, not politics.” This isn’t the first time Peirce has floated the idea. Over a year ago, she responded to the UK’s Digital Securities Sandbox (DSS) consultation with cautious optimism. But now, the vision is firmer: ✅ Bilateral collaboration with like-minded markets ✅ Market-first incentives ✅ Clarity, flexibility, and actual utility for participating firms The sandbox isn’t meant to be just another pilot project where innovation goes to die. Peirce emphasized that real-world applications need room to scale, pivot, and capitalize on user demand in real time — not years after regulators finally catch up. 🔑 “If a regulator were not able to react quickly, the company would have to turn new users away.” That one line speaks volumes. Unlike many policymakers who view sandboxes as safe experimentation zones with no commercial urgency, Peirce gets it: innovation isn't something you run in a lab and shelf for later. Firms building in blockchain and tokenized finance are already live, user-facing, and solving real inefficiencies. They don’t need more theory. They need interoperable, market-driven, legally sound frameworks — now. And here’s where it gets political. While she left room for other like-minded jurisdictions to join the sandbox, she explicitly called out the EU’s approach — particularly its “double materiality” doctrine that injects sustainability goals into financial reporting. Peirce pushed back on the export of EU sustainability disclosure rules, drawing a sharp regulatory divide. Her final words were blunt: “Market integration suffers when two jurisdictions diverge on core matters such as the purpose of financial statements and other securities disclosures.” 💡 Translation? If financial systems can't agree on why they regulate or what outcomes they prioritize (capital formation, efficiency, investor protection), cross-border experimentation will remain fractured. As someone building at the intersection of AI and blockchain, I see this moment as pivotal. If done right, a UK–US sandbox could offer: • Legal clarity for asset tokenization • Regulatory flexibility to scale responsibly • A blueprint for future financial infrastructure Let’s hope this doesn’t stay a speech.
