At our final #MadeForTrade Live session in #London, industry experts explored how UK companies can leverage DMCC’s award-winning district through dedicated ecosystems, including the DMCC Crypto Centre, Gaming Centre, AI Centre and Sustainability Hub, offering regulatory clarity, access to capital, and sector-focused networks. With 2,185 British companies operating from DMCC, reflecting confidence in its infrastructure and business environment, the panel highlighted opportunities for UK firms to grow and expand globally from Dubai.

Following the Chancellor’s recent Mansion House and Leeds Reform speeches, Quant, alongside a coalition of leading financial institutions and industry participants, has signed a letter urging the UK to adopt a national stablecoin strategy. As the letter highlights, stablecoins are not just ‘crypto assets’, they are emerging as core financial infrastructure that could: ✅ Reinforce Sterling’s international role ✅ Diversify demand for UK government debt ✅ Drive investment, jobs, and innovation in fintech ✅ Boost efficiency in cross-border trade & settlement The message is clear: while other jurisdictions race ahead, the UK risks missing a transformative moment. Today we launched a collaborative industry pilot project on the delivery of tokenised sterling deposits (GBTD). The Committee for Economic Development opened the inaugural Guernsey Digital Assets Conference yesterday, an event exploring the disruptive potential of blockchain, tokenisation, and decentralised technologies. Deputy Haley Camp, who opened the day, said the Committee wanted to approach digital assets by being at the forefront of innovation, “the foundation by which Guernsey has built its success for generations”. The Committee has a firm interest in exploring digital assets and other evolving innovations in the finance sector and the role they can play in driving economic growth. The UK government is set to appoint a “digital markets champion” to lead and coordinate private sector efforts to tokenise wholesale financial markets — part of a broader strategy to modernise how assets are issued, traded, cleared, and settled using blockchain and AI. Unveiled by Economic Secretary to the Treasury Lucy Rigby at Digital Assets Week in London, the announcement is part of the UK’s Wholesale Financial Markets Digital Strategy, which also includes: 🔹 The launch of the Dematerialisation Market Action Taskforce to accelerate the transition away from paper share certificates. 🔹 Progress on DIGIT (digital gilts) — representing sovereign debt on blockchain — with the government now inviting bids from technology suppliers. This marks a significant milestone in the UK’s vision to stay at the forefront of financial innovation, bridging traditional markets with cutting-edge technology.
