At ACDM25, we spoke with Alex Franklin of GSK following their session “Platform studies and considerations for data management.” In the video, Alex explains why early planning and strategy are essential for managing the complexities of platform studies. They highlight the importance of thoroughly understanding the protocol and arms of a study, identifying critical data for each deliverable, and applying in-stream cleaning, freezing and locking to stay agile while avoiding backlogs. Alex also reflects on how the increasing personalisation of trials will drive more platform-style studies in the future, making it vital for data managers to anticipate and prepare for these evolving challenges.
