  • Funding the Internet of Things

Funding is now available for many IoT Tech development. There is less funding for the implementation and roll-out of IoT solutions on a wide-scale basis.
This project aims to identify and stimulate funding solutions for public and private IoT solutions, drawing on Bird & Bird's experience of innovative funding arrangements in the Cleantech environment.
Professor Nicola Dimitri from Sienna University is assisting in the project.

I coordinate and lecture on the module dealing with Integrity and Anti-Corruption in Public Procurement and also act as a supervisor for students in the preparation of their dissertations. It is a great course and an excellent way of making contacts with procurement practitioners on an international basis.

The bi-annual IFCLA Conference comes to London on 9th and 10th June at the IET in central London. It promises to be a great gathering of leading Tech lawyers, from Europe and wider afield.

The first day will examine themes around Tech in Regulated Environments - as Tech moves more into the heart and driving force of business activities it inevitably faces more regulatory constraints, such as Financial Services, Health Care, Privacy. The EU's new initiative around the Digital Single Market will also be reviewed.

The second day will focus on Tech in fast moving environments. We're delighted that Professor Mischa Dohler will kick off the day with a thought provoking overview of where technology is going over the next few years. Topics covered during the day include - legal issues around digital transformation, the impact of data analytics, robotics, cyber-security and block-chain technologies.
I'm very excited about the event: do sign-up and come along in early June.
