    Mont Ventoux is without a doubt one of the most famous mountains in Europe and arguably the most feared of the great climbs of the Tour de France, primarily due to its relentless climb and unpredictable micro-climate. It has an average gradient of 7.6% and tops out at 12%, lasting for over 20km. The micro-climate means that it is not unusual to experience sleet, high winds…

    Mont Ventoux is without a doubt one of the most famous mountains in Europe and arguably the most feared of the great climbs of the Tour de France, primarily due to its relentless climb and unpredictable micro-climate. It has an average gradient of 7.6% and tops out at 12%, lasting for over 20km. The micro-climate means that it is not unusual to experience sleet, high winds, harsh cold and oppressive heat all in one sitting.

    Cycled Stelvio Pass to raise money for my aunt's charity, Think Amy, which she created after her 13 year old daughter Amy was tragically killed in a hit-and-run in 2011. Raised c£1800 with gift aid.

    Stelvio Pass is a 24km route in the Ortler Alps in Northern Italy, ascending 1800m (6000ft) of climb, with 48 hairpin bends and an average gradient of 7.4%. Hence it's legendary status in the Giro d'Italia Tour. It was also dubbed "the greatest driving road in the world" by Jeremy Clarkson…

It was also dubbed "the greatest driving road in the world" by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, albeit they were in a Lamborgini, Aston Martin and Porsche at the time as opposed to on a two-wheeled steed...!
