What a day! Yesterday Thinkbox Vision’s event saw many marketeers gather to explore the TV industry and the role advertising continues to play.   Our Chief Commercial Officer, Rak Patel was amongst the industry experts reflecting on the current state of play, speaking on a panel alongside commercial leads from Sky Media UK, ITV and Disney to discuss where TV is going and how it will better serve brands.   Key takeaways from the session include: - Reach, Trust & Effectiveness: TV remains a trusted platform, delivering reach and reliable results for brands in a fast-changing environment. - Industry Collaboration: Initiatives like Project Lantern are driving progress, creating universal measurement standards and increasing accessibility—especially for SMEs. - Positive Regulation: Governance and oversight provide brands with the confidence to invest in TV, knowing their campaigns are in a safe and effective space.   Attendees then got to hear the latest news from Project Lantern, a joint measurement initiative between Sky, ITV and Channel 4. ⏰ #NowIsTheTime to tackle ageism in PR. To round off National Inclusion Week, we’re unveiling a new CIPR Research Fund report that shows just how many PR professionals have had their age negatively impact their career progression. This new study by Jenny Manchester, Head of Communications at the Centre for Ageing Better ‘An age-old problem: What can we do to tackle ageism in PR?’ reveals how experienced PR practitioners face both exclusion and stereotyping. The research uncovered: • Evidence that recruitment bias and coded job language systematically excludes older candidates • Gaps in training and development opportunities between younger workers and professionals at senior career stages • An Industry-wide need for flexible working policies that adapt to changing life circumstances • Workplace cultures that prioritise youth over the strategic value of experience The study concludes with key recommendations for individuals, employers, and the broader industry to tackle ageism in PR. It is accompanied by a practical checklist to help build age-friendly workplace cultures, adapted from the Centre for Ageing Better’s Age-friendly Employer Pledge Culture toolkit.
