We recently wrapped up a powerful ServiceNow Global Leaders Summit—two days of honest discussion, big ideas, and inspirational moments. One of my personal highlights—sitting down with Professor Scott Galloway for a thought-provoking conversation about the business landscape and our role in making the world a better place. What I appreciate most about Scott is that he doesn’t just talk about the future; he challenges leaders to meet it head-on. We talked about the impact of AI, bold leadership in times of disruption, and how to fuel growth by putting people at the center. A few takeaways that stuck with me: ❇️  AI is unlocking one of our most valuable assets: time to invest in our growth, teams, and ourselves. We need to take advantage of the opportunities that AI creates for our people. But we also have to use it wisely in ways that enhance human connection. Loneliness is a real risk, one that won’t be solved by more tools, but by prioritizing the wellbeing of employees and nurturing the very skills they need to grow in an AI-powered world.  ❇️ Bold leadership is about taking risks and betting on the long game. People tend to overestimate the risk and underestimate the upside. It’s okay if something doesn’t work; just be agile and know when to stop or move ahead. ❇️ Failure and rejection are key to being successful. A lot of “no’s” means you are doing something right or you’re onto something new. Don’t be afraid; give yourself (and your teams) permission to learn by doing.  ❇️ Culture matters. When you water your people by providing feedback and encouragement, you fuel their growth. Leadership is not just about keeping pace with change. Not all custom apps are built equal, and it's important we take time to assess the impact of these and who they're for. I've been part of ServiceNow's low code and platform business over the last 4 years, and have worked with hundreds of customers on their journey to building custom apps on the platform (over 400 apps, yes I keep count!). With broader understanding of these custom apps and conversations with developers, enterprise architects, transformation leads and more, I've designed a quadrant that largely buckets them into 4 types: Niche, Utility, Strategic and Flagship. There's nuance to this, but the key is to recognize that having a single platform with the requisite tools to deliver these apps gives organizations flexibility and scalability to meet demands of multiple groups at their points of maturity. I've included some real world examples of the apps built in each category. I would love to understand if this model maps to your custom app portfolios.

Gemini Enterprise launched this week, and it tackles something I've been thinking about for a while: how much valuable information gets trapped across different systems. The platform connects securely to the tools teams use every day, from Google Workspace to business applications like Salesforce and SAP. This means AI agents can finally build the context they need to deliver truly intelligent results. Take Banco BV as an example: by giving agents context from internal analytics systems, their relationship managers automated hours of work, freeing them up to focus on customers instead. It's a reminder that the real value of AI comes from bringing your work, data and people together in one place, not forcing teams to stitch different tools together themselves.

Following on from my previous post... From shared service to a strategic business partner and beyond. In 2025, Global Business Services (GBS), will be crucial to winning and not just a development of shared services. Many people see shared services as a way to cut costs, however GBS done well delivers intelligent workflows, predictive analytics, and data-driven insights. With this teams can transition to proactive or even a predictive business differentiator as AI and Automation takes care of the mundane repetitive tasks. The next generation of enterprise operations will be led by companies that become great at change management and strategically implement GBS. Salesforce has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Regrello, an AI-native solution that automates complex business processes. Regrello’s technology takes business data and turns it into agile, agentic workflows. After the acquisition closes, Salesforce plans to integrate Regrello with Agentforce and Slack, helping customers transform manual, inefficient activities into agentic automations that increase the velocity and quality of critical business processes. This orchestration is a key step toward realizing the vision of an agentic enterprise, where people and AI work together to achieve more than either could alone.
