5 PPC Data Mistakes to Avoid (And yeah… #5 kind of changed everything for us) Let’s be honest... most PPC accounts don’t fail because of bad strategy. They fail because we’re making decisions off bad or delayed data. Here are 5 mistakes we’ve either made ourselves or cleaned up in client accounts: 👇 ❌ 1. Assuming ad data is real-time Spoiler: it’s not. Sales data can lag 12–48 hours, which means that “bad” ACoS you saw this morning? It might look a whole lot better by tomorrow. Be careful what you react to. ❌ 2. Using the same look-back window for every product If you’re selling high-ticket items or products with low conversion volume, a 7-day window is useless. You’ll get massive swings that don’t reflect true performance. We go 30-day rolling for stability. ❌ 3. Skipping short windows when speed matters Some brands spend fast. If you’re pushing hard on keywords or testing big budget shifts, you can’t wait 14–30 days. We check 2–3 day windows on high-velocity accounts to catch issues early. ❌ 4. Only looking at rolling windows and ignoring daily numbers Yes, rolling windows are great for trends — but if you’re not watching daily sales + ad spend, you’re missing real-time performance cues. Those two metrics tend to update faster than everything else. ❌ 5. Not using Amazon Marketing Stream This one changed the game for us. Marketing Stream gives you hourly data — so you can actually see what’s happening today, not two days from now. Clicks, conversions, impressions — all in near real-time. If you're not using it yet, you're leaving insight (and probably budget) on the table. If your PPC data loop is broken, your optimizations are basically guesswork. Fix the data. If you can't close good leads (SQL's), no agency is going to save you. Talking to a prospect last week and it became apparent there was more than just a 'we need more leads' issue. After asking a bunch of questions I had to be honest with them an explain I feel like where they are lacking is not just lead volume or quality, it's follow up. Arguably the most vital piece of building a lead/sales acquisition system. Here are things to consider if you're spending money on ads/marketing to drive leads: - How quickly you're following them up. - How are you actually following them up (in this case it was an email the next day). - What is your process when if you don't hear back. - Is it easy for the prospect to contact you back. - If they do book a call in, do you send reminders leading up to the call (SMS, email etc) What have I missed? Improving this would be much more valuable to a business than just getting more leads, get this right before you scale. #leads #ads #aquistion #sales

SEO works when you stop overcomplicating it. Here’s what drives results: ✅ A site that loads fast and works smoothly on any device ✅ Content that answers buyer questions better than anyone else ✅ Keywords tied to intent, not vanity phrases ✅ Consistently publishing and optimising every week That’s literally it. The problem is most companies treat SEO as a side project.  They put out short blogs, chase irrelevant keywords and expect overnight results.  Then they call SEO “dead.” It’s not dead. It’s just being done wrong. SEO doesn’t replace ads. Ads create demand today. But SEO makes sure you’re visible when buyers search tomorrow. If you ignore it, you’re invisible when it matters most. if you do it right, SEO becomes the channel that compounds for years.

When I started out in SEO, I lived in the world of content and links. Storytelling, on-page optimisation, building links, that was my lane. But when I joined TAL Agency I was pretty much thrown into technical delivery and realised pretty quickly how important it really is. Crawlability, indexation, structured data… it was like peeking behind the curtain of SEO and seeing how the magic really happens. Don't get me wrong, I'd always had a basic understanding of tech and the role is played, but I'd always shied away from talking about it, leaving it to the 'experts'. I started asking more technical questions in client meetings, sitting in on dev calls, and getting my hands dirty in site audits. I immersed myself in sitemaps, schema, and server logs. I taught myself how to properly use Screaming Frog and how to break down its recommendations into actionable tickets my clients could implement to drive results. Before long, I no longer identified as a content and link specialist, but a fully fledged SEO all rounder who can talk in-depth about technical issues and what they mean for results.
