Mega-Deal: Elon Musk's SpaceX to Acquire Wireless Spectrum Licenses from EchoStar Corporation in $17 Billion Deal 💰✍ SpaceX has entered into a $17bn agreement to buy 50 MHz of exclusive S-band spectrum in the U.S., along with global mobile satellite service licenses, from EchoStar according to the company. The deal includes up to $8.5bn in cash and up to $8.5bn in SpaceX stock valued at the time of signing. It follows, EchoStar's $23bn sale of wireless spectrum licenses to AT&T last month. Proceeds from the SpaceX deal will help EchoStar reduce its debt and fund future growth. As part of the agreement, SpaceX will also cover ~$2bn in cash interest payments on EchoStar's debt through November 2027. This agreement will support SpaceX's next-gen Starlink 'Direct to Cell' network designed to provide broadband service directly to smartphones worldwide. In addition, SpaceX and EchoStar will sign a long-term partnership, allowing EchoStar to integrate Starlink's Direct to Cell service into its 5G network. Financial Edge Training 🏆

Another first for Bitcoin: Bitcoin now has the highest proportion of organic emission mitigation of any global industry. 7.5% of network emissions (which have been static for 4 years) are now abated through methane mitigation (using methane that would otherwise have been released, or partially released, into the atmosphere as a power source) No other industry has managed to mitigate just a high percentage of its emissions without needing to buy carbon credits.
