I was delighted to share my thoughts on AI in insurance at the 10th Digital Transformation In Insurance Conference. A heartfelt thank you to Nina Beddoe for inviting me to join the panel and for participating in such a thought-provoking discussion. Some of my key takeaways: • Agentic AI has the potential to be a significant disruptor in the insurance industry—if harnessed thoughtfully. Data ethics become more important than ever. • While AI can streamline many workflows, the human element remains critical. Over-automation may seem tempting, but it can introduce long-term challenges. • The insurance industry must continue to build and maintain trust. At its core, insurance is about alleviating life’s uncertainties, not adding to them. • Predicting which asset classes will outperform is tough, but understanding political dynamics and applying macroeconomic insights can help reveal opportunities. • Insurance is not a one-size-fits-all product. Designing for diverse customer segments is essential—even those who prefer non-digital interactions, which may seem riskier or costlier to serve, can offer strong economics. Just wrapped up two fantastic days at the Digital Transformation In Insurance Conferences diving into how technology and innovation are reshaping the future of Insurnace. Day 1: Our Head of Data, Matt Curtis joined Graeme Howard, CIO at Benefact for the keynote “Data in the fast lane” - a powerful conversation about how data has always been central to Insurnace, and how emerging technologies are unlocking new levels of speed, insight and value. Day 2: Our Head of AI Prasad Prabhakaran brought great energy to an insightful panel on the real opportunities AI presents - and what it takes to prepare for the “new normal”. Always a pleasure to meet new faces and reconnect with familar ones. The challenges may be consistent, but the potential for impactful change has never been greater!
