🎉 Congratulations to Kent, Medway and Sussex's Secure Data Environment (KMS SDE) colleagues on their ground-breaking partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust! This collaboration perfectly demonstrates how NHS England's NHS Research Secure Data Environment Network is tackling data fragmentation to accelerate research and improve patient care. Combining the digital innovation and research expertise of Great Ormond Street with KMS SDE's governance and technology, this partnership will serve as a model for collaboration within specialised data environments. This kind of collaborative innovation is what makes the NHS Research SDE Network so powerful! Find out more about the project below ⬇️ #PoweredByNHSData #KMSSDE NHS Kent & Medway NHS Sussex
Combining expertise to tackle fragmentation in health and care data 🌐 We have signed an agreement with the Kent, Medway and Sussex Secure Data Environment (KMS SDE) to improve how health and care data is used for research. Currently, data is often stored in separate systems, making it difficult to get a complete view of a person’s care. This partnership aims to create a more connected, secure and efficient way to use data, accelerating research and innovation. The agreement outlines a shared goal to integrate high-quality research data into the Secure Data Environment network, enabling approved researchers to securely access and analyse de-identified data. The collaboration with combine our strengths in digital innovation and research with KMS SDE’s leading governance and technology. Together, we’ll develop a blueprint for how specialist data environments can collaborate with the SDE network to deliver joined-up insights that benefit patients, researchers and the wider system, laying the foundation for future partnerships. Shiren Patel, Head of Innovation Technology and Data Research at Great Ormond Street Hospital DRIVE unit said: “At GOSH, we’re committed to excellence, not just in care, but also in how we manage and use data. By working with KMS SDE, one of the most advanced regional data environments, we can refine our governance model, build a gold-standard framework that others can follow and ensure we remain at the forefront of trusted, high-impact health research.”

Half-term holiday plans? You're not alone - there are 179 million #holiday posts on Instagram! But before you set that out-of-office, here's what cybercriminals don't want you to know... 📧 Your automatic email reply could be their golden ticket. Email is the #1 route for social engineering attacks, and detailed out-of-office messages give fraudsters everything they need. Instead of sharing when you'll be away, where you're going, and who to contact, keep it simple: "I am currently out of the office. For urgent matters, contact mainteam@[department].gov.uk" 🚫 Avoid these social media slip-ups: • Posting your out-of-office screenshot • Sharing holiday countdown timers • Live-posting from your trip Save those holiday snaps for when you're back - your home security will thank you! Stay cyber smart this half-term 🔒 Get all our tips for staying secure on holiday: https://lnkd.in/dVsh-GUF #CyberAwarenessMonth #HalfTerm

The NHS Federated Data Platform represents a significant step forward in healthcare coordination whilst maintaining the highest standards of data protection. By bringing together information from separate systems, we're enabling faster operations, reduced waiting times, and quicker cancer diagnosis. Patient privacy remains paramount through three key safeguards: ⚫NHS-controlled data that never leaves the UK ⚫Role-based access controls with comprehensive activity logging ⚫Anonymised data sharing that removes all personal identifiers This approach delivers the coordinated care patients deserve whilst keeping their information completely secure.
