Freedom Village at Brandywine Raises More Than $6,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association

Freedom Village at Brandywine, a premier Life Plan Community, raised over $6,000 in September to support the Alzheimer’s Association.
The community’s month-long fundraising efforts culminated in its annual on-campus Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Friday, October 3.
Throughout September, residents and staff came together to host a variety of creative fundraisers, including a donut sale, t-shirt sale, soup sale, and a 50/50 raffle.
Every Friday, staff were invited to wear jeans to work in exchange for a $3 donation. These efforts not only helped surpass the community’s original fundraising goal of $5,000 but also built momentum leading up to the walk.
Freedom Village began hosting its own Walk to End Alzheimer’s four years ago to ensure that every resident could participate, including those with mobility challenges. The on-campus walk provides a meaningful way for residents, families, and staff to come together in the fight against a disease that affects more than seven million Americans.
“Supporting the Alzheimer’s Association is something very close to our hearts here at Freedom Village,” said Freedom Village at Brandywine Executive Director Danielle Geyer. “We’re incredibly proud of our residents and team members for rallying together to raise both funds and awareness. Every step we take brings us closer to a world without Alzheimer’s.”
According to the Alzheimer’s Association, one in nine people age 65 and older is living with Alzheimer’s. Efforts like those at Freedom Village help fund critical research, care, and support services.
Freedom Village Brandywine is a continuing care retirement community in Pennsylvania, managed by Life Care Services. The community offers a full continuum of care, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing.
