Carlino’s Market, which started in Ardmore and now also operates a store and production facility in West Chester, has expanded its products into major grocery chains nationwide, including Wegmans, Central Market, and Giant Food, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal

With this move, the company expects production and sales of its signature sauces and pasta to triple over the next year.

The family-owned company saw its products reach shelves in Wegmans Food Markets in Southeastern Pennsylvania last week, following a launch in Texas over the summer.

Over the next three months, Carlino’s Market tomato sauce line will expand to include additional Pennsylvania locations and Wegmans stores in Delaware, New Jersey, and New York.

Nick Carlino, who oversees retail and marketing for the company, said the 42-year-old Italian food manufacturer plans to keep expanding its presence in supermarkets nationwide, while remaining selective about the brands it chooses to partner with.

“We don’t want the products on every single shelf in every single store around the country, because we are a specialty, premium brand, and we want that to come through even in other stores,” he said.
