Discover the top WordPress slider plugins that offer rich features, seamless multilingual compatibility, and easy translation.

Sliders are a great way to communicate content with visitors, offering several benefits such as:

  • Make your site visually appealing
  • Increase engagement through interactive content
  • Clearly showcase your products and services

To enjoy these benefits across every language on your website, it’s important to translate your sliders.

Translating Sliders Should Be Simple

Like other parts of your site, translating sliders should be simple and straightforward, letting you focus on tasks more important for your business.

Our recent survey and interviews with 400 WPML clients confirm this: spending less time on minor details leads to better business results.

For example, 71.2% of clients who spent less time optimizing their site reported positive outcomes, compared to only 52.4% of clients who invested more time.

Our research shows you should spend less time translating and optimizing your site, and focus more on marketing, strategy, and other important business activities.

Choosing the Right Slider Plugin

As of today, WPML is fully compatible with three popular slider plugins, guaranteeing a quick and effortless translation process:

To translate any slider created using these plugins, simply go to WPML Translation Management, select the slider and page containing your slider, and send them for translation.

For example, here’s how you can translate LayerSlider with WPML in under 30 seconds using automatic translation.

Using a Different Sliders Plugin?

If your site already uses a slider plugin that’s not as translation-friendly, should you switch?

    • Hi there,

WPML is compatible with Kadence, so you should be able to translate its sliders without problem. Are you currently using Kadence to build your site?

      • Yes I’m using it, but I haven’t yet had a situation where I had to translate anything in a slider.

  1. Surprised that you don’t mention Toolset. I suppose integration with sliders built with Toolset works flawlessly, right?

    • Hi Erik,

Yes, WPML can translate Toolset sliders (like those built with Toolset Views) out-of-the box. Are you currently using Toolset to build sliders? Or a completely different plugin?

  2. I switched form LayerSlider to Slider Revolution years ago, since it slowed down my website a lot less. WPML translation works for me with Slider Revolution, though. On one of my websites I use WPML for the slider translation, on the other one I just created different 3 sliders with different language content and I inserted the corresponding versions into the translated pages.

    • Hi there,

Thanks for sharing your translation workflow, I’m glad to hear WPML is helping you translate Slider Revolution.

You mentioned two translation workflows – one with WPML, and the other without. Is there are a reason you’re using two different workflows?

  3. Hi Tomer,

I just wanted to see that both methods work and I left it that way.

We can use many plugins without WPML translation in a multilingual environment, fortunately. For example Fluent Forms, where we can generate separate forms for all the languages we use.

    • Yes, creating separate forms is a good example. However, if you use one of our fully compatible forms, you can use one form for all languages – without having to create separate ones.

Just like translating compatible forms is easy, we want to simplify the translation process for plugins like Slider Revolution. We’re very interested in collaborating with Slider Revolution, so we might add them to our list in the future.

    • Hi Stephan,

WPML can translate multiple other slider plugins, but not all of them are fully compatible. This results in complex translation workflows, or partially translated sliders.

Our list includes fully-compatible slider plugins we recommend using with WPML. Once we improve compatibility with other plugins, we’ll add them to this list.

Is there a specific slider plugin you’re using, or expected to see on the list?

  4. Hello,
I don’t use plugins for my sliders. Everything is custom fields (ACF or native).
No problem at all with WPML.
Even if I do prefer WeGlot.

    • Hi Florent,

Thanks for sharing – Is there a specific reason you don’t use a slider plugin?

For instance, the 3 slider plugins mentioned in this post (LayerSlider, Elementor Slides, Divi Slider) make it easy to build sliders and are fully compatible with WPML.

      • It’s more simple, faster & cleaner. I do control the code and I don’t have one million divisions and multiple css & js files to deal with.
        Less is more 😉

  5. we are usually using ‘smart slider 3 pro’ for more sophisticated displays
but it forces us to make single language versions.
simple img sliding we do with kadence. all well.

    • Hi Malik,

Smart Slider 3 is a very nice plugin, but it isn’t fully compatible with WPML at the moment. We’re always interested in improving compatibility, so WPML might translate Smart Slider 3 more easily in the future.
