This article provides more detail on the data storage and transfer from a GDPR perspective.

    What is it used for?

    Abacus monitors the performance of Webvision Cloud sites and uses the data to support the development of the product and our clients’ businesses.

    Abacus uses the dataLayer to pass information about the current page to Google Analytics (GA) via Google Tag Manager (GTM).

    The data is used as follows:

    1. The data is stored in GA as Custom Dimensions and used to work out the Most Popular stories to display on the website 
    2. Abacus uses the data in GA to analyse the performance and usability of the Webvision Cloud product 
    3. Abacus uses the data to test new features and their use on the Webvision Cloud sites
    4. Data is used to identify issues and potential improvements for the Webvision Cloud product.

    dataLayer

    All Webvision Cloud sites have a standard dataLayer containing the following:

    AttributeData

    StoryID

    The stories UID code

    StoryFormatProperty

    The Format of the story – used to filter the most popular

    StoryCategories

    A list of categories associated with the story

    StoryLayout

    The layout of the story

    UserID

    The UserID from ADvance

    NavCode

    The Navigation code of the page

     Abacus will also, from time-to-time, set up dataLayer attributes using the Metadata Extraction Layer to test features and user behaviour on the site.

    Google Tag Manager

    Abacus uses GTM to push page views and other data to GA.

    This includes:

    1. Page views
    2. Items from the dataLayer
    3. Event tracking – used to collect analytics on user behaviour, for example, usage of the mobile menu
    4. Enhanced E-commerce – Used to collect data on the performance of the ADvance e-commerce pages, with the aim of identifying issues and improvements

    Google Analytics

    GA is used to store and analyse data from across the Webvision Cloud sites.

    Personally Identifiable Information

    No personally identifiable information is pushed to or stored within Google Analytics.
