Upcoming Driveway Closures

We will soon begin repaving the main driveway outside the Yawkey, Menino, and Moakley buildings. Weather permitting, driveway closures are scheduled for the following weekends, from Friday at 8 p.m. through Sunday at 8 p.m., on Oct. 17-19 and Oct. 24-26. 

Access Changes During Construction:

Pedestrian Access: Patients and visitors will be able to enter Moakley through the entrance on East Concord Street.    

Vehicle Access: Vehicular traffic should use the designated drop-off and pick-up area on East Concord Street or the 710 Albany Street Garage. Signage will indicate where metered parking has been blocked off to create a drop-off/pick-up zone (on E. Concord between Harrison and the Moakley side entrance).

Our Impact

The Grayken Center is a national leader in clinical care, research, policy, and advocacy related to substance use disorders. Our programs, most of which are based on best practices developed at BMC, serve patients from birth through geriatric care in over approximately 2,500 patient visits per month. In addition, our researchers publish approximately 100 papers annually, helping to build the future of addiction medicine.

Together For Hope 2025

A Celebration of Resilience, Connection, and Hope

A powerful embodiment of vulnerability and resilience, our two-day, annual event in Worcester, MA was a testament to everything the Grayken Center strives to achieve. Nearly 1,000 people gathered at the DCU Center to demonstrate support, solidarity, and a shared belief that no one is alone on the path to recovery. The event featured a powerful keynote address, open and honest panel discussions with Q&As, and workshops focused on inclusivity, lived experience, and the impact of substance use disorder.

Meet Our 2025 Artist in Residence: Elizabeth Addison

A multi-talented playwright, composer, and lyricist, Elizabeth Addison fuses creative expression with addiction recovery in her work. At Together for Hope 2025, she presented an excerpt from This is Treatment, an immersive piece inspired by her time in residential care. A national speaker and creative recovery coach, she partners with the Grayken Center to promote treatment equity.

Stories of Recovery at Grayken

Stigma is most often the primary reason why people don’t receive the addiction treatment they need. Grayken hopes to bring addiction out of the shadows by telling the stories of recovery and the research that goes behind what we do.
