The lab at Boston Medical Center offers a wide range of clinical testing to BMC patients. This testing will help your care team diagnose, manage, and treat your illness or condition. We also offer outpatient transfusion services on BMC’s campus.
In order to use one of our blood draw locations, your doctor must send testing orders to our lab. Please use the contact information below or reach out to your care team if you have any questions.

Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
Anatomic Pathology serves all patients who undergo a procedure that results in the removal of tissue, as well as all services that generate these specimens. Laboratory Medicine oversees all clinical laboratory testing throughout BMC, reference lab referrals, lab information systems, point-of-care testing, and more.
In affiliation with the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine offers a combined anatomic pathology (AP) and clinical pathology (CP) residency and a one-year cytopathology fellowship.
The mission of the Laboratory & Biorepository Research Services (LABS) Core is to provide high-quality research services to members of the BMC and BU research community in order to support innovative and impactful science.
