About this event

  • Event lasts 7 hours

Join team SpecialEffect to run through the city of the dreaming spires in one of the most stunning half marathons of the season.

SpecialEffect is a charity that puts fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities across the world through the innovative use of technology. Your fundraising will be helping to make a very real difference to people’s lives, most of whom face unremitting daily physical challenges.

The glorious city centre route begins on Broad Street, starting you off on the right foot near Trinity College and the Clarendon Building. Once you pass through the charming village of Old Marston, you’ll cross the River Cherwell and whip back around to Oxford University’s impressive Lady Margaret Hall, and then right again onto Norham Gardens. Finish strong back into City Centre, through Radcliffe Square and into the final stretch of the stunning Radcliffe Camera.

By signing up, you are agreeing to aim for a £200 per runner fundraising target which will both cover the costs of the charity places we have purchased and go towards providing life-long care for people with disabilities, to help them gain access to technology. You will be sent the link to set up a fundraising page once you have confirmed your place alongside instructions on how to officially register for your running number. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact [email protected]

We put fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities by helping them to play video games.

By using technology ranging from modified joypads to eye-control, we're finding a way for people to play to the very best of their abilities. But we're not just doing it for fun. By levelling the playing field, we're bringing families and friends together and having a profoundly positive impact on quality of life.
