Introduction

Mixer, formerly called Beam, is now a Microsoft-owned free-of-charge live streaming video service that officially launched in early 2016. It focuses on providing live broadcasts related mainly to video games.

Mixer is not the only platform of its kind in the industry. It does have a unique approach to gaining an upper hand over most platforms though. It takes a few steps to properly address the basics and fundamentals of the service in order to provide users a more straightforward experience.

Mixer features a new way of streaming on PCs and Xbox, giving a true meaning to the term live in live streaming. It doesn’t suffer from the 10 to 20 seconds of latency that is present in most live streaming platforms. This trait is by far the highlight feature of Mixer; everything happens in real time. It is a huge factor in providing an excellent streaming experience. A live stream without delay means that everything happening feels a lot more natural.
