About this ebook
This book is not only a dictionary of the most well-known slang words and idioms used in Argentina; this book is a true survival guide for the social lives of tourists, internship students and everyone else who is on the verge of getting stuck in the spiderwebs of Argentinian's everyday conversations.
With this brief manual, you'll get these main benefits, among others:
* Don't be at sea in any conversation
* Catch on the fly double entendre sentences
* Look less “foreigner” in the eyes of natives
*Avoid getting fooled or misunderstood
Rioplatense Spanish is a tricky dialect to learn; even its verbal conjugation has its unique ways that make it difficult to deal with, even for English speakers with an advanced level of Castillian Spanish. In the way of a broad-spectrum antibiotic, this book will help you unravel the mysteries of Rioplatense Spanish at three different levels:
Section I focuses on words with multiple meanings. Did you know that in Argentina the root word “bolas”(balls) in conjunction with its derivations can be used to make sentences with at least 11 different meanings and only one of them is offensive? Here you'll find each variation of this and other words explained and exemplified with sentences both in English and Spanish.
Section II digs into the best-known words of Argentinian slang, the “lunfardo”. Once again, a profuse load of sentences will do the exemplification work.
Section III, maybe the funnier of the three, will let you have a glimpse into some of the most used idioms and colloquialisms of this South American country. For each idiom you'll get a literal translation (where possible), the proper meaning of that idiom and one or more related idioms used in English-speaking countries (if any).
If you find this little book useful, don't miss out on Volume II, coming soon...

INTRODUCTION
So you are headed to Argentina. Nice choice. The country has it all: beaches, snowy mountains, rocky deserts, peaceful plains, jungle, everything. Maybe you are about to start your long-planned vacation, or perhaps you were granted an internship as a student by your college or by your company.
In advance of the incoming trip, you dusted off your Spanish grammar books, took an online Spanish course, and maybe even had a lovely Mexican or Caribbean tutor to help you with your goal. It was such a relief when he or she warned you to never use in Argentina the verb coger
(to take), as those guys use it as the F word itself; a vulgar term for having sex. But probably your teacher failed to tell you about the word concha
(shell). In this country, that term means cunt, a vulgar word for vagina. Can you imagine how dreadful would be to combine those two forbidden words in one sentence?
Picture yourself as a young man ready to enjoy his
