The Role of Technology in Education

The historical, political, and social aspects of curricula and content are continuously tweaked for relevance, argument, author bias, and omission. However, technology’s role in education has evolved and solidified, ready to cater to society’s desires, needs, and political will. Technology in education has transformed from a luxury to a necessity, becoming an essential tool for every child, teacher, or administrator.

Technology quietly serves as the catalyst for educational reform. It enables students to achieve progress, much like a gentle puff of air helping to blow out dozens of algorithmic birthday candles on the progress table. For the general population to truly grasp the tactile benefits of technology, classrooms must incorporate technological elements that introduce students to life's intellectual, academic, social, and emotional puzzles.

Will future history scholars navigate the past’s major events more effectively if exposed to a diverse array of primary and secondary sources in their classrooms?

Furthermore, where will today’s students acquire the interconnected skills of problem-finding, problem-solving, innovation, entrepreneurship, written expression, speaking, visual communication, collaboration, interpersonal relationships, and global perspective? These skills, attributed to content mastery, common experiences, and one’s environment, are the cornerstone requirements of modern education reforms.

As co-creators of knowledge, members of higher education are uniquely positioned to partner with industry, governments, and learners in shaping educational means and ends. They must work collaboratively and swiftly to ensure that personalized learning technologies accommodate the demands of pluralistic and fluid labor markets. These proactive changes will also help establish value for graduates and teachers, who already make innumerable significant contributions to society. In the tertiary education sector, it is crucial for all stakeholders to ensure that course content is current, refreshing, and progressive, thereby allowing the educational community to partake in digital knowledge advancements.

Personalization empowers every student to take control of their learning journey. It enables teachers to personalize instructional content proactively without adding to their workload. Consequently, every student can learn successfully, and teachers can focus on what matters most. The next significant leap forward promises machines with a deep
