Communication is the basis of human interaction and is present in all aspects of our lives. In this article, we delves into the basic principles and models that support the effectiveness of communication.
From the simple exchange of words, to more complex conversations, communication involves the exchange of messages between individuals or groups. We examine the various components of communication, which include the sender, receiver, messages channels, channels, and feedback loops, shining light on how these components influence the meaning and understanding.
Drawing on classic communication models such as Shannon-Weaver's Information Theory and Berlo's Sender-Message-Channel-Receiver (SMCR) model, we dissect the intricate process of encoding, transmitting, and decoding messages. Understanding these models gives an understanding of communication dynamics and identifying barriers to understanding and clarity.
Furthermore, we examine the significance of context when communicating, and recognize that the context, culture norms and personal experiences greatly influence the way messages are interpreted and received.
