What are the top automation platforms for cross-departmental workflows?

We’ve been searching for the best automation platforms to eliminate manual dependency, optimize productivity, and increase ROI. In exploring options on G2, a few tools consistently stood out for their ability to support cross-departmental workflows. Here are some of the platforms I looked into and how they came across in practice:

  1. Microsoft Copilot: Great AI assistant for tasks and reporting inside Microsoft 365. But can it integrate smoothly with CRMs outside the Microsoft ecosystem?
  2. Twixor: Strong automation capabilities and high user satisfaction. But is it ready for enterprise-scale use cases?
  3. Podium: Simple and cost-effective for SMS, chat, and VoIP. But can it support cross-team workflows beyond customer comms?
  4. ClickUp: Easy entry point for automating repetitive tasks, especially with the free plan. But does it scale for enterprise-wide automation?
  5. GPTBots.ai: Flexible for building task-specific bots quickly. But how do you track ROI from custom bots — time saved, error reduction, or something else?

If you've used an automation platform on AI capabilities or reviewed a similar platform on G2, my question to you is:

  1. What ROI levers do you track with automation platforms?
  2. Do these tools really reduce manual workload across departments, or only in silos?
  3. Which gaps should others watch out for?

One thing that stood out while looking at these platforms is integration. Some (like Microsoft Copilot) feel native inside their ecosystem, while others (like Twixor or GPTBots.ai) position themselves as more flexible.

Curious for the community, when you evaluate automation platforms, which integration factor matters most?
